it looks like a backflip with gainer setup... try not to throw your second leg to your chest after the jump, just push off the ground with it and let your first leg lead the way

Take your shoes off for one thing, and gainers don't involve having your arms tuck you in

wait... are you wearing shoes?

you pretty much got it man, keep at it. try throwing your arms a lil bit higher (so theyr fully extended and pointing straight up in the air). im pretty sure youll stomp em good your next session. :good:

Honestly, it looks like your doing it half-ass.

Put a little more effort into it and you'll land it....

Take stronger longer steps, throw that leg up faster, KNOW that you are going to land and you'll have it.

that's really good for your first tries..................needs more effort/power though

How's your backflip? It looks like you're leaning back too soon. Oh...and try 'blocking' as well =D

Not bad man, try kick your leg further other wise the set up is pretty much useless.

Nice for 1st attempts anyway! :good:
Good luck

Is it most logical to be able to do a backflip before attempting a gainer? Or is it easier to land a gainer than a backflip?

a good gainer is easier for me than a good backflip. on your gainer, do not tuck, use more momentum in the set up, and WATCH your kicking leg for as long as you can during the move

What's the difference between a J-Step Gainer Flash, and a Kick the Moon? (Or I'm assuming moonkick?).

a j-step gainer flash is still inverted, a kick the moon or moonkick is slanted.

So Kick the Moon or Moonkick is more like a Cheat Gainer?

4 a reverse gainer, the J turn aproach is essential... once u hav JUMPED UP u need arch ur back kinda hard n spot ur landing.
the J is xplained like this:
in able to do a nice r-gainer u need 2 things: AIR and a 'going backwards' feelig to complete the flip faster&easier. (forgive my english i speak spanish^^)
to get AIR, u punch the ground hard in an angle (blocking)
to complete da flip easier u turn around while runing then jump.
THE J-TURN GIVES U THESE 2, ITS NOT ABOUT THE PATH U R FOLLOWING.
watch dogen gainer tutorial.

Thanks for all the replies, guys
blocking for Heighth and most power in my setup for speed.
I'm gonna give all of your tips a try on my next tricking sessions (friday)

Looks like blocking isn't a technique that can be aplied to moves jumped off both feet...interesting
