whats the technique?? or is it true that only trained gymnasts can do them correctly.. this really really hurt and i am going to be terrified trying again. so if there is any way i can prevent the same thing happening again, i would like to know. i did stop halfway through because i decided not to do it lol. but was i doing the right tech? or is there a major prob?

A round off backhandspring and a backhandspring to a backhandspring have the same take off, honestly, it just seems like a fear thing. Just keep drilling your backhandsprings, it look like you just gave up. Just reach for the ground.

You're not doing anything wrong per se, you're just bailing out of like fear.

Your tumbling looks fine. You just need to stay consistent and in control through your handsprings. If you want to put a tuck on the end, practice punching straight up first and then just add the tuck when you feel comfortable and in control.
