Okay I know this is probably a n00bish and possibly girly trick... but has anyone got tips for a front stepover? I've seen it done... and it seems easy, the problem is if I just flop forward from a handstand I'm going to land on my back... any ideas/guides/videos?:eh:

arch your back more, go down one leg at a time(in other words dont let both feet hit at the same time, do one then the other), look up(pull your chin to your chest). and its more commonly called a walkover, not stepover:good:

You need to have an INCREDIBLE back arch for this yes?

if u can do a bridge, u can do this. the only hard part is standing back up once u kick over. this takes momentum and strength

Ahh right... one leg at a time you say. Yeah sure, I can do bridges well enough to fall back into them or flip forward from my head into them... okay thanks a lot guys ^__^ .

I can go down into bridge and go back up to standing without twisting or bending but it requires enormous effort and I'm exhausted after 2-3 of them and I'm nowhere near being able to do walkovers. My first foot slams into the ground and even though I put effort into not falling to the ground with my back, I'm lying almost paralel to the ground with bent knees =P

when your at the gym, or even in your house...get some sort of matt or somethin soft and place it in front of u about the distance u think your feet will land at. do a handstand and fall over slowly and let your feet hit the raised surface. if u do this over and over you'll get more occustomed to the movement and not nail your feet on the ground hard, plus u wont be arching as as much and it'll be easier on your make, letting u do if more than 2-3 times.

you mean a walkover?

its not just about back flex, you need a bit of stomach flex too! my back can bend, but my stomach cant flex as my abs are.... weird.

I found this rather easy, just look foward when standing up out of the bridge. I'd say it's mostly lower back strength to stand back up. Just needs practise
