Should I attempt the Gainer? Lol, I'm know I'm not gonna half-ass it...in fact...I know it'll be easier to do it. I can't even BHS or back flip, but it's because I'm moving backwards and going somewhere I can't see...

To tell you the truth, I think I have more confidence doing a gainer than BHS or btuck...should I try it? (First like into a pool or something)

you should do it. do it with the jstep

is the j-step nessisary? like, i mean honestly i dont understand why a jstep is nessisary or someone would even want to turn or do the jstep

whats the special about it?

makes it easier, you get more momentum from swing and it flows nicer

o....is it a big difference?

yes definatly

so then i cant continue going forwards if i add the j-step, right?

im just saying which is the easiest way to do it and that looks best. who cares if it gains distance unless your into parkour and need it to go off a ledge?

I say learn to do it j-step then try it straight. J-step is much easier though. You just have to make sure you do it right.

if you can backtuck, try the reverse gainer setup, it's how I learned it first

yeah reverse is probably the easiest way to get yout head around doing a gainer. I have had to learn gainers off both feet for combo and neatness purposes and jstep is the best from my experience

exactly, i need to get off the ledge lol
i think i can reverse gainer, but ik for a fact i cant backtuck

Dude, no! If you can't backflip, don't gainer, bad things happen.

yea if u cant backflip dont try a gainer man... im telling u now.. its a lot easier to not hurt urself with a normal backtuck than with a gainer... with a gainer the possibility of landing on ur face and getting a black eye and bloody nose is very high so i would suggest getting use to backtucks first

There are exceptions to every rule.

If you cant backflip I wouldnt reccomend the gainer.

u guys realize im doing this into a pool first, off a diving board...until im 110% comfortable...right?

lol. Well in that case try anything you want. Your going into a pool what does it matter.

I'd be wary of any trick into a pool. Off a diving board shouldn't be too hazardous but I'd watch out anywhere near the edges.

Kaos learnt reverse gainers 5 minutes before a backflip :)

...but exceptions aside, I'd recommend backflip before a gainer. Because after a certain point during the gainer, it's basically a backflip until you land.

It'd be like learning to skip before you can run; it's weird if you do it, but makes more sense to do it the other way round.

looks like im headed that direction! =D

Yup backflip then gainer. have you considered trying the front flip first?
