Okay so if you look at this video (<2MB):

http://www.ojnorman23.plus.com/fhs.wmv

you will see that I cannot do a FHS. No biggie, from what I can tell I need to push harder. A lot harder. But if anyone can point out glaringly obvious problems then that would be useful

Just looks like you aren't going for it, as such. Proper go for it, get a huuuge hop then just put all your mind into doing the damn move. You'll land it.

You need to bend your arms a bit and push off. Try just doing a handstand and fall forward into a back bend. That will help some if u are afriad. Then just go for it.

Bam I know what's wrong. You're not pulling your feet to the ground, you're just letting them fall. When you land theyre like in front of you, they should be under you.

And when you push off your hands, try to push straight up. Dont just let them come off the ground to the side, pull them up along with the rest of your upper body.

i would be careful about sharigan's advice, bending your arms isn't the best way to do a front handspring. that can help, but if ur not careful, you could hit your head or lose height if not done properly. if u want to get more height with ur arms, u need to do a shoulder shrug, but that's not necessary to landing a fhs.

i would agree with skilzat, you need ot pull your legs through during the whole move. you're kicking up and then stopping. you need to keep pulling your legs through towards the ground. And it looks like your pulling your hands away prematurely. for me at least, i don't have to consiously pull my hands away, the momentum from my legs forces me into the air, taking my hands away from the ground.

a) ur half-assin it

or

b) ur not jumping forward enough as ur hands touch the ground

Thanks guys =)

I'm not scared of doing this move, since it isn't exactly that painful landing flat on my arse each time I'm doing it =\ but when I have finished my exams I'll go and try out your tips. Thankyou all ^_^

Two more advises:

First: I learned fhs doing a very slow cartwheel, just... um, rotated it slightly.
Second: Try doing bridge from handstand. I know it's difficult, but you don't have to complete this move. Just push in the right moment with your arms, shoulders or whatever.

I can do a bridge from a handstand, so that's not a problem =\ I'm just pissed off because two 14 year olds girld at my TKD class were doing it and I can't... rar

You definately need to push off with your hands, the only other thing I can say is you need more "AGGRESSION" (i think thats the word Im looking for)...
