Well i just learned a sideswipe saturday. And i have this fear of a backflip..but have no fear of a sideswipe. now im assuming a sideswipe is close to a flip. and if its not then this whole questioning is off. but if it is flip-esque do you think it will rid my fear of flips?

this concept is pretty foreign to me, backflip was my first real trick ever. but i think the more you invert your swipe the more you'll get air sense and get used to the feeling of inversion and shit. i still say nothing beats a spotter whne learning

i rely on spotters too much. and cant do shit if their not their(mindblock)...if imma learn a backflip i need to do it on my own.

the trick then is to have some spot you but randomly tell them to step away once without telling you, its how i got a couple people to backflip but i was actually the one spotting

I wouldn't imagine a sideswipe would help with flipping unless you managed to get it pretty much completely inverted. Like how a sideways aerial doesn't really help for fear of something like a sideflip, they're different techniques.

naah maxx, sideswipe is nothing like flipping man. bflip is something you gotta just spend time on and work your technique to perfection.
