Hey guys i've been doing backflips for about a month now. I can do em and land semi standing. Thing is when i backflip i land like 2-3 feet away from where i started. I've tried staring at something a bit above head level so i wont tilt my head back but i still land back alot. Ive tried to stall but i just stalled to much and landed on my knees. Any other tips you guys can give me to not lean back as much. Ill post a vid today after i get outta school :P

You are bending your legs too much. Try bending them less and that will give you more speed and explosion. If you bend too much, you will use too much energy trying to jump out of the position and get tired before even tucking.

start doing standing tuck jumps, and make sure when you bend your legs, all your weight is still square over them.

Its easy to travel backwards on backflips. Just really try and jump straight UP.

what are you talking about? that has NOTHING to do with jumping backwards. what the heck hahah.

try jumping up like you're reaching for something above you. ie, pretend theres a basket ball hoop above you that you're trying to grab.
