Allrighty, so I have two ways I can squat:

1. I can squat with my legs about shoulder width apart and go ass to the grass, but my shins remain completely vertical. When I do it this way, I only feel it in my glutes.

2. I can squat down with my feet about 1 or 2 inches closer than shoulder width, but I let my knees go foward to about my toes. I can only go parallel this way though. I feel this mainly in my quads.

Which way will help my vertical more?

Push your butt slightly back and lift your chest up, setting a tight arch; lower between the legs, sitting back into it, and then press back up.

The torso is a meat sack slung between the legs.

Video-tape your forms with good weight on the barbell (85-90% for a double would be great) and post them up. Using a real weight is important because anyone can hit perfect form when the load is light, but what really matters is how your form is under stress.

I'm glad you appreciate my words, chicanerous. They're the only things worth living for in this life I believe, and metal genre of music facilitates it!
