Anyone here use them? If so how much and how have they benefited your training?

The overwhelming opinion in this forum at least is that they are a bad idea. I think the main contention is that they mess with ligaments and tendons since they are an added weight that your body isn't quite sure how to handle.

I don't think you're going to be able to get anything meaningful out of this Theos haha

don't use em for anything fast (running, kicking, jumping, etc.). that's all there is to it.

Don't do anything to fuck your ankles as mentioned above(running, kicking to ohard blah blah)
Just do slow kicks and stuff(crescents)

they are cool when you branle and branle when using the branles.

I have a set of wearable weights. I used to do katas with ankle weights, wrist weights, and a weighted vest. I think it built endurance more than anything else. Only not very much.

I still use the ankle weights for leg raises. And lately I've been doing sets of standing vertical jumps with the vest on. No ankle weights for that, though, just the vest. It does seem to be helping my vert a little.

The best way to use ankle weights is to practice active static stretching, like 3 reps of holding your leg up.

used to train punching back in the day with wrist weights. I can still type this reply, thank god.

I do that some, perhaps i'll try it some more. Besides walking around with them on all the time maybe i'm thinking one gets use to the added weight over time. I figured that doing anything strenuous like running or snap kicking would put unbelievable strain on the knees, ankles, and other ligaments. I would think a month or two of wearing the weights continously would probably help noticably...well other than sleeping and showering of course.
