The beginner post! (Also called newb/n00b/f*ing ass etc.)

And here it is: I cant land either the Aerial or the 540, (though these is the only real tricks i've tried). My Au Batido is strange, but my Kip up rawks ass.

The thing is it seems like everything is out of order (I've filmed myself, took moms camera  ). I just cant seem to get height, the leg comes out more like a pull/i put down my hands etc etc. And even though I know whats wrong my body dont want to do it. So my question is: I've got the patience and motivation to continue (Trickin really is hardcore), but as it does seem like i never evolve to the better, should i quit trying (though I dont want to)?

i think you should go out and practice, then use ure camera to see what u look like, then practice and film ureself each week and see if you make progress before u even consider quitting

The thing is I've been practicing for a little while now and I was hoping to see just a slight improvement, but somewhere on the road I have believed that though I really would like to nail that Aerial or 540, my execution and progression by now isn't enough to really become what I see on my computer screen. But thanks a lot for your replies, I sure felt a little relieved anyhow.

I was the same when I started, I expected a lot more than I was capable of, for the first while tricking you really have to persevere because once you break through that barrier, you'll get better and better so much quicker and you'll really start to love tricking.

Just keep practicing, trust me!

Aye, I've been feeding my brain with "wait till' you've mastered the basics. Let's see who starts giving up then!" kind of sayings. I mean, I can't even do a good nuf' B kick, and I'm so god damn eager to get to the B twist!

But, truth to be told, you can't do squat until you understand the basics. So keep working hard on them and everything else'll come day by day, at least, so I've been told

Thanks lots guys, I really needed that. Since tricking is so cool I really wouldn't want to lay off. But I'll just hope that those basics come soon coz i really want to feel like i've accomplished something :)

Try working on your handstands, cartwheels and tornado kicks.. they're the pre req's for the basics.

They're really quick to pick up and easy things to work on.. you can even combo them! Search for Mike Martini's tricking basics vid itll help you with those. I've been doing this for a couple of months now and still can't aerial or 540.. but pulling off a quick/nice cartwheel/tornado kick really helps with that sense of accomplishment!
