i'm not trying to be mean... i'm just being honest... you have to expect to fall sometimes... even if you have spotters, you'll still fall... without spotters, you'll fall... NO MATTER WHAT, if you're thinking about tricking, realize that you WILL get hurt... just know that you will recover... there are no tips to get over your fear... everyone deals with their fears differently... but that's part of the reason tricksters trick... to face their fears head-on... and that's really all you can do... other people can help you understand moves, and give you tips on technique, but only you can conquer your fears...

okay fear - get pumped with adreneline, anger, etc. get really angry at yourself and you will just throw it. worked for me

Ok, I was scared like mad, but like Pooyen said, get yourslef full of adrenaline and anger. I got my friend to spot me, first time i landed on my feet and slipped onto my face, it hurt but that got me even more angry, lol, so i tried again, landed on knees, and know feet, the only problem is i havent got the tuck yet, mines sort of a spotted whipped flip, but its got me over the fear for sure. (By the way, the first few times you do it feels horrible and unatural, and your abs will kill for days :)

OK i recently attempted mine and first shot i fell right on my head squishing my neck. Yes it hurt, but i didnt think about how much it hurt, i thought "HOLY CRAP I FINALLY DID ONE". i didnt care that i landed on my head. i just shook it off and tried another one. i bailed again but it was better. But somehow i ended up squishing my balls which wasnt too pleasent.

So a final note. dont be scared. thats all there is to it. just let your urge to do a flip be greater then your fear of it.

I was super super scared to do a standing full on grass, but I was all hyped up on adrenalin and my brother told me he wasn't to see it (i'd don't it on gym floor, but not for him) and I busted out and it wasn't really scary at all. adrenalin is good for getting over fear

dont be scared man. like everyone else has been sayin, get over your fear. if it makes u feel any better and safer, i landed on my neck as well. i did some research and found that neck injuries like that can only injure u either severly or temporarily. buh you can't die from that. neck TWISTING is a different story. that's how people snap their necks. flipping on the other hand, it's safer than twisting. you wont die. and the possibilities of u gettin seriously hurt are very rare. go out there, get a spotter (a good one this time lol) and try the move. easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

o and yea, look at adam dovick's tutorial. he's a really good gymnast.

dont think about it.
just try when you feel like doing it.

what i did was ...
i spend about 20 min walking back and forth in my backyard thinking about doing it. when i decided i was going in bc that was leading me to nowhwere. on my way to the door i just stop and tryed. ( fell on my face though) the fear went away.

go to a proper gymnastics gym and get a gymnastics instructor to spot you...

trust me there can be no fear when one of these guys is spotting you...i remember i bailed once trying my first few bflips...the dude literally just caught me mid air...damn beefy armed gymnasts...

but that's coz i bailed!! dont bail =) sure thats easier said than done sometimes but you dont even hafto get the tech perfect...jump up, lean back, and tuck...as long as you do those without bailing there's no way in hell that you can land on ur neck...landing on your knees from lack of height or landing on your back from over rotation is the worst possible scenario

go for it and good luck with ur bflips (Y)

funnily enough, getting angry and full of adrenaline actually DOES help with fear =/ .....oh, and having hot chicks in the proximity seems to help as well...damn men and our stupid egos XD
