View Full Version : ATG Squat Vs. Parallel Squat
I assume that parrallel squat is better for tricking because you can use more weight, more power and you never jump from the bottom anyway. What do you think?
And what is the difference between ATG squat, full squat, and olympic squat?

Depth wise, they're the same. ATG and full squat just refers to the depth. Olympic squats have a very specific stance, which may or may not be used to achieve full depth.
If you wanted to lift maximal weight, you'd squat like a powerlifter.

I do ATGs, I don't know why, just started doing them when I got back into the gym. I must admit, I feel like they're a much better workout. I also don't like training only partial ROMs.
Parallel squat is probably more advantagous for tricking.

I do all my squatting to full depth with bands - the best of both worlds
