Rodeo Flip?

This is the first time iv tried a rodeo, i think its a rodeo. I'm landing pretty low but thatll change in time. Any tips.

sorry dude that isnt a rodeo that looked more like a sideflip but for a rodeo you have to grab you leg behind you but keep trying you get it soon

try learning kim do kick first, it should help with the general motion you need. if i were going to class it, i'd say the kim do is like an "x-out" variation of the double leg maneuver. if you look at it that way, then it makes sense that you would want to drill getting hieght on the motion (that is, taking off like a double leg and rather than creating a side-to-side type of kick, pike more so that you kind of flip over your shoulder) before you try to grab your legs and kill your rotation. The key to any "rodeo" style move is to get nice and high in a loosely tucked kind of position before grabbing and popping your back into a hollow position. Hope some of my nonsense helps, lol.

yah after watching that tutorial i had the wrong idea about what a rodeo was. I watched a clip of it on 540club and he kinda did what i did but he grabbed his ankles, towards the end. hmm so what the hell is that then just an ugly double leg i suppose.

yeah, a kind of side flip double leg. A rodeo technique can be anything. I've seen 540 hooks, butterfly twists, back tucks etc all rodeod. basically as long as you grab your ankles and assume the position during the technique it has been rodeod.
