View Full Version : getting good extension on gainer x-out

On standing x-outs and tumbling x-outs, I can get really deep, wide splits. On the gainer x-out, it's hard for me to make them that wide without compensating rotation speed. How do I get nice wide legs on gainer x-outs? I'm doing a straight back gainer, no j-step or reverse.

That's the trade off...from a Gainer approach, the more you concentrate on the extention of the X-Out the more "choppier" your rotation will be. You can't off-set this reaction, you can only try to block better, so that you get as much air-time as possible...

Also, on your X-Out, make sure you can see through your legs by the time yo extend them out, otherwise it's like a stradled backflip rather than a solid X-Out.

exactly what sessh said. you see how much ground you're clearing? Use your power to go UP not out. Do that and it'll be cake.
