Thismorning I found the motivation for a 40 minute jog, the first cardio I have done for a long time. I basically donīt enjoy any cardio, but every so ofton have a week or two of regularly doing some, then none for ages. I can maintain a moderate running ability just from my weight lifting.

What kind of cardio do you do? Running, skipping, swimming? Steady-pace? Sprints? How long, how ofton? Do you do it fasted?

Any details like that.

For me I know that low-intensity fasted cardio for about 45-60 minutes works excellently for fat loss. I rarely find the motivation for it though. Sprints lead to a massive and immediate improvement in my ability, which is fun to see, but again I rarely keep it up.

I don't really do any type of conventional cardio. I will occasionally do some skipping or running, but that's often because it's part of my other training.

Basically I don't intentionally go out of my way to train my endurance, it's always an after thought or by product of other training methods.

i do a lot of running at the sand dunes wearing a 40lb weight vest, then after i do sprints up and down the big dipper (biggest sand dune in europe!!), knakering.

I'm not a fan of running..so I usually get my cardio from either
a) biking (trails)
b) basketball
c) DDR

DDR is awesome for cardio on heavy mode! you really get the an awesome burn in your calves.

I prefer running because it's more "functional" or whatever.

10 times up and down my stairs double steps (12 steps)
10 plyometric pushup burpees
10 56lb snatches alternating arms

5 times as fast as I can twice a week. Takes about 20 minutes once i get below 15minutes Ill use more taxing exercises.

I do this because I dont get any pain in my muscles as im doing it. I just get breathless... realy breathless. I have found it doesn't interfere with my 3X3,3days a week; deadlift, pullup and military press, strength workout.

I dont do it fasted but if I was cutting I would.

Well its evening now and ive felt pretty great all day, which I attribute to my morning run. I may try to keep it up, although it will interfere with my plan to get back to deadlifting, three times a week. Im really nervous about deadlifting again, its been 7 weeks.

Unless you're running with extreme intensity or going for maximal fatigue, it shouldn't interfere with deadlifting too much.

I ran 2 miles to the gym before deadlifting for a few months before I got my license

I still feel great, I blame that run. Everyone who hasnīt done cardio for a while, go for a run and see how much better you feel.

I guess after a few runs they wont make me sore or tired as long as I keep a similar intensity, so I may be able to run in the mornings of deadlift days. At least the lighter days, anyway.

other than the 10 minutes i run for warm up before lifting or the 4-6 laps i try to swim after (1 minute to get to one side, rest 4 minutes until i catch my breath and can make it back to the other side... repeat), I haven't done cardio a year unless carrying groceries home counts.

I play squash which turns out to be a pretty damn good sprint workout. I want to play about four times a week, but theres rarely anyone available that often. Trying to get seriously fit real soon. Best way for me would be a assload of cardio, but just going out for a run sucks so much. I'd much rather do it as part of a sport.

yeh i do loads of running and i find just running round the lanes gets really boring, so i look for interesting places to run like sand dunes, woods etc. When i go running down the sand dunes i always go with my mate and afterwards we jump off a bridge into a river and do some flips an shit, that makes it more interesting for me and gets me motivated if im having fun.

No its not better the less you wank the higher your testosterone.

There are 2 types of people morning people and afternoon people. The time when metabolism is faster, if your not a morning person you should be a afternoon person and your cardio would be more effective in the afternoon, also sleeping after a wrokout is highly anabolic.

Right now most of my cardio (and all other athletic stuff) comes from the stuff we do in the army (naturally). Mostly we do combat training (running, moving on allfours, jumping for cover, digging trenches etc.) All that is done with gear on so it gets pretty tough. Allmost all marches are done on foot or on bikes (the bikes army has suck ass!!!) Then we have some rugby, soccer, basketball etc. to mix things up.
I'll probably start going to the gym again in about two weeks, if I have the energy.
I've lost about 5-6 kilos during the last month without really even trying.
