View Full Version : triple kick
I don't know if this is a trick, but it's something I've been training to do, I'm trying to do a triple flying front kick. I can get 2 kicks out, but I don't have enough time to throw the third one, any tips? I know I have to block with my no kicking foot as I kick the first leg up, and to throw the kicks out as fast as I can but I don't know if my technique is right.

Are we talking 3 kicks with the same foot?
Or right left right?
Also, I find that the best way to get kicks is to drill them. There's little else you can do to improve other than drilling them and getting stronger.
3 kicks, right, left, right
I don't have a camera, but I was hoping somebody was able to do this move, and could give me any advice that helped them when learning it.

You want to ride the first kick more, so that you get maximum height. Then you can practice doing just the 2 kicks untill you feel really comfortable coming out of the second kick. Then you add the kick.

You'll probably just have to drill it. There's a wushu kick, where you jump off of one leg, kick with that same leg, and land with that leg. That would probably help quite a bit too cause in in your case you'll be landing on the same leg you jump with.

This one I can do. The foot that's only doing one kick is where the magic happens because you have to jump off that foot, kick with it, and land on it again. So you can just practice doing that.
Here's the sequence of events:
Run (or take a few steps, whatever)
Raise your first foot and kick.
Jump off of the second foot and kick with it while chambering the first foot.
Throw a second kick with the first foot while lowering the second foot to land on it.
RIGHT || LEFT
Kick
. . . . . . Jump
Chamber
. . . . . . Kick
Kick
. . . . . . Land
The harder you jump, the more time you have to finish the move. You can use the first kick to generate upward momentum for the jump.
It's not real useful for tricking, but some people might find it impressive.

I can do it as well. there's a slight difference between this and the double front kick, which is common in TKD.
For the double, one leg kicks, and as it's going down, you turn your hips a bit to get more reach on the second one. Don't do that for this one. Try to keep your hips straight and parallel.
I do left-right-left, though, not that it matters.
It also may help to lean back a bit when you do it.
Wow thanks, all these replies are gold.
