I feel like I'm really close. Maybe just work on it a bit more and It'll come to me.
But maybe you guys have some tips.

Also tips on the BHS combo near the end would be appreciated.
dont run into the gainer, slowly walk into it, you will have more control
and throw your arms up after the bhs, will give you more height in the tuck

learn it on grass, the mat will take away alot of your jump. When your swinging your 'kicking' leg up try and keep it a bit straighter, and as its reaches its peak you should jump simultaeneously (sp?) to get the most upward force as possible. SWING UR ARMS UP HARD! stall, tuck tight and you should get it. I really recomend oyu learn this on the grass not on big thick mats. Good luck

You the mats take away fear, but they also take away any jump or bounce.

what happened to your post count towlie?
Your not using your kicking leg much at all, you swing it back and then kick to about paralell with the other leg...hmm, not so good, Try to kick really high.
Your really just rushing it though because your not comfortable with the move yet, but you really need to kick that leg higher and lift alot more, throw those arms up...
You've probable already seen Dogens center of gravity tutorial but if not check it out, because you aren't moving up at all.

Oh and for the ro bh back tuck, push up out of the handspring and throw those arms up to give you lift, thats called a set, onced your set high just tuck it in and your good to go. (Stop rushing things):shocked:

Hey, I'm having a debate with somone. They think what I'm doing in this gif is a Pike backflip. I say it's just the way I tuck that makes it look like that.

close, but legs aren't straight enough, and correct me if i'm wrong but don't they have to be straight throughout ?? on your straight gainer the further you put your foot forward the harder it is to get height, just experiment with it.
its not a pike because when u tuck its nurmal and then in the end u kick out
a pike is when u actually tuck in stright leg postion...

You're killing your jump. Shit - first gainer I ever did I landed on the first try. I remember it like it was yesterday - first original Maryland gathering - the first real deal... We were out in the front grass at kevin's place.. or was it sam's? or ... well who fucking cares - waiting for people to arrive.. We were supposed to be saving shit for the gym but fuck - you have that many great people together with a soft grassy front yard and shit is going to happen like it or not.
"JUST DO IT" Spike yelled... "You've got the height easily." Felt weird.. but whatever.
Bam - gainer.
War stories... That was one helluva trip. Those were the days...........
You've EASILY got the height. Just get your damned guts about you and go do it in the grass. You'll be surprised. Just make sure to jump up and all will be well.
