waz up playas
so me and my coach devon went to a few open gyms, played around on tumble traks into the pit and then went to another open gym later that day and tumbled on rods for a little bit and i ended up rolling my ankle at the 2nd gym but that doesnt matter
what does tho is cause devon came very close to something thats never been done before
now i know he didnt land it here and its on a panel mat, but hes working them and i promise no mat and a landed one very soon
so here you guys go
you wanted a standing double back??
you wanted insane tumbling??
HERE (http://youtube.com/watch?v=FZcL3l4Vp0k) you go!

that guy was alright but all he did was stuff on the trampoline thing. The only trick in the video he did on the floor was the standing double back and didnt land it but i give him props for attempting it

seen as your post was kinda arrogant im just gonna say:
WOW GYMNASTICS ON SPRUNG FLOOR!1111111 (+ into a foam pit)
but pretty cool.
tumble track and rod floor!! 12 year old girls do that stuff and tumble track and rod floor! I bet they could even double full on grass. and the standing double back was raised like 8 inches and madly underdone.. don't be so arrogant, legend in the making OMG
That was quite gay as you made me anticipate something GOOD
540 guy is the legend in the making

Aug-12-06, 06:11 PM
Wow, you guys are all so hateful.
The guy's a power tumbler. He tumbles on sprung surfaces. That's what he is required to do. Most of the people on here who are talking shit probably can't do doublefull-in full-outs, even into a pit, even off a springy surface. It's a video. Eesh.
It said in the original post that they were on tumble tracks and doing stuff into a pit. What part of that misled you into thinking you were gonna get something different? Does "open gym" translate into "grass session"?
Did I forget to mention he did double back layouts in a sequence?

to 540 guy
yea nice standing double back to your uh.. neck? i bet that was fun and worth it
to naota and Xin'
yea that standing double back was off a panel mat, ok please show me a video that someone ANYONE i dont care who it is, lands a standing double back on the floor from the floor and lands on his feet.. yea there are none
i bet you wont do a double back out of a 40 foot sprint round off and make it that far into the flip, earlier that day we were doing running double layouts, triple fulls and full in back outs off a foam floor, he has done them on a regular floor and landed it before but that was like 7 months ago and he hasnt worked them since and as the video says, he had been working out all day and was amazingly tired when he threw that, hes gonna start working them again
and thank you all the not so dumbass guys for the support, and hes right i guarantee you wouldnt know where to begin to throw any of that stuff into a foam pit, double full in back out, double full in full out, full 1/2 in front out, quad fulls, hell i bet most of you dont even have the air sense to know where you would even be in the flip
and on the rod floor his double lay whip whip how could you possibly bag on that? to throw a double lay in the first place is rediculous let alone tumble out of it, and for everyones sake, that floor isnt long enough to do his pass, his pass goes barani whip double lay whip whip full backhandspring full in full out /// triple back (in the works)
so please all you people who said this sucks or w/e
please show me one of your vids that has something close to as good, into a pit off of whatever i dont care, do it off a hotbed into a pit, i bet you still wont do it
....im waiting =)
p.s. im usually not this pissy lol

Nah i understand perfectly why you'd be pissed. I can see the effort you put into those moves and they are incredible even for a tumbing track and then people come and diss you for it not being on ground, it'd be like dissing a swimmer for not swimming on ground haha. Great samp man, keep it up, and hope that guy gets his double back :D
on powertumbling.net there are vids of little girls doing full in full outs into pits. http://tkatchev.ucs.ualberta.ca/mpegs/katie.mpg
a little girl or rod floor.
as soon as I go to a gym with a pit and tumble track I'll do exactly what you guys did.
edit: and If you guys wouldn't have hyped yourselves up to be legands in the making the replies would have been much more positive.
for tricksters grass>plyo>sprung>rod>tramp/tumble track so making a tumble track/ rod floor based video AND hyping it upis just asking for bad reviews on this forum
and if you posted this on a power tumbling site with the same title is would get way more bad post on it because they know people who power tumble and how good they are
edit edit: and these are the legends, many your age doing the same stuff you do on regular sprung floor,

what naota said...
just because its on a tumbling track doesnt mean its easy. theres still technique and form, etc. stop being so elitist and pretending that gymnastics isnt impressive/difficult.
but at the same time. dont claim to be a legend in the making. if you're good, people will acknowledge it. dont try to create your own reputation.
Naota just owned you all.

i think my 1st post in this thread was fine tbh....
it's like me saying "look at this guy doing a septuple front flip!
out of a plane!
with a parachute!
he's not supposed to do anything on ground but he's a legend in the making!!!!"
meh, i thought your 1st post just bigged the vid up too much like it was gonna be something completely out of the ordinary. (i get the impression most powertumblers do that stuff. maybe im wrong). otherwise id of just said "cool vid" or something, which i did anyway.
liquid_helix136
Aug-13-06, 07:51 AM
first of all
the title was ONLY like that BECAUSE of the standing double back
which im pretty sure has never been done before, atleast not on tape
and yea it was off a mat and he didnt land it, hmm lets see, after a long day of only tumbling i would like to see you throw something remotley the same, and it being your first try in 7 months, the last one he did was infact on floor and landed but no camera, and which i said "in the making?" because it was a very close attempt for all those facts being known, he is working them again now so he can do it on tape on the floor and be done with it
as for all the other tumbling, yea it was in my opinion very horrible tumbling, because i know what we are capable of and that was not even close to the best, i only said amazing tumbling because the only tumbling i have seen on this site that is at the same level as that, is olympians and people like that, were not olympians, were just people like you guys are
naota, i love how your little girl that is just like us, is someone doing a double back...
ooh man a double back thats crazy! if we were just throwing double backs on a rod floor out of 2 backhandsprings from what i said...i would agree with you and shoot myself in the face
and i cant wait for tye hill in the olympics! i didnt know they added CHEERLEADING to the olympics, theres alot more to the floor excercise in gymnastics than tumbling, i hope he has his pommel work down for the circle element and his strenght in shape for the strength element
like i said it was a horrible tumbling night and most of that post was cause of the standing double back, all the extra tumbling was... extras you could call it, because it wasnt nearly our best, it was just footage laying around that was waiting to be used, i mostly made it for the people that know us and werent there so they could see his standing double and figured you guys might wanna see a very close attempt to a standing double back, which has never been done before
but i guess not, next time ill do a series of things that millions of people have done already.. but wait! on grass! oh that makes it 209348320983049238x better!
damn people

Aug-13-06, 08:18 AM

That was a pretty sick vid -- but it wasn't tricking and you certainly can't say for sure if they're on the road to becoming legends.

My humble view on all this, is that you're fine tumblers, agreed, but as mentioned, you seemed to compliment yourselves beyond what i and some others think you deserve.
That little girl with a double backflip isn't anything special. And that's the point. If she can do it, then it means it isn't that special at all.
About the grass.. from a tricking perspective, you could think of the tumbling as a potential part of a combo or form. But you can't really expect to have those sprung surfaces all over when you're tricking/presenting your form, so you'd be better off if you could perform all your tricks on a natural surface.. like grass. It's not 298245056986x better, but just about 3x better if you ask me
Anyway, those were just my 2 cents. Nice tumbling anyway.

Well they aren't tricksters, they are tumblers. So they don't trick... When they present their forms they don't do it on grass... therefore grass is irrevelant to their sport.
Rozenthal
Aug-13-06, 09:21 AM
Yeah of course, i know that. But this is a tricking forum, and i was kind of just assuming this since they were asking tricksters what we thought about their abilities.
But yeah, i didn't really think about it that way. Yet... i personally prefer grass since it's... what can i say, pure skill, without any circumstancial requirements before the moves can be done, if you get me :)

i dont like people who lie its absurd when people do that... we all know for a fact that he didnt land a double backflip on normal ground that same night a few minutes later but they hapend to not catch it on film.... but they caught everything else on film... no no no they lied about that.

Yes maybe the guy who posted the vid overhyped a bit, who cares...tricking is full of arrogant teenagers, get over it.
Ok I respect everyone's opinion but THE IDIOT GUY who said that stuff about little girls doing better shit...what the hell does that have to do with ANYTHING? There are some 10-12yr olds on the martial arts circuits who could probably out-trick maybe...90%...of the people on this site--maybe you should go bullshit about that too? That'd be cool--oh wait! You probably don't have to skills to be able to do that without being a damn hypocrite. And why the hell would you bring up little girls being able to do that shit as well when YOU can't do it in the first place? Worry about yourself before you worry about the people better than you, this includes the little girls.
I'm sorry if that was a bit hostile but you bringing up the "little girls can do this too" bullshit was probably even more arrogant than the original poster trying to hype that vid. You were just being a prick, at least he was excited about stuff he can actually DO and representing his coach's skills and accomplishments in a way I'd be proud to have a friend or student do...
Anyway, thanks for posting that vid, the way he did some of that tumbling was beautiful...fearless! Even IF there are better people, he's up there with some of the best, and everyone in that vid has obviously accomplished quite a bit and attained more skill than many people will end up doing throughout their lives.
Edit: My rant can be summed up for the lazy like this:
a)that vid had nice shit!
b) who cares if there is better, this is what those guys accomplished, and it's probably way fucking better than anything you can do!--this isn't about how good he is compared to the best, it's about what he can do. he mos def has the potential to become a legend if he works hard.

thank you sickpanda, your awesome and hopefully shut up those other people,
and dynamotrickz if thats you then you sir are my hero
i have the christmas training vids on my computer from those people and im in love with them, i know these people are out there, i think someone in one of those vids threw double double in back out??? thats rediculous!! i would kiss your feet if i ever saw you in real life haha
and wildarm are you stupid? he didnt land it that night dumbass, he landed it on the floor SEVEN MONTHS ago, that one we have on tape is the only one he threw that night, at practice one day he was tumbling with us and was like i feel like throwing a standing double back and yea we basically laughed in his face and then he threw it and i was mouth dropped but we didnt have the camera, i went home to get it but by the time i got back (cause i live 30 mins away form the gym) he was like that takes so much out of you are you kidding me?
and naota if you cant tell... that vid is from a raised platform into a rezzy pit
im aware of that video, and the one where the little kid does a standing double off a floor into a big ole rezzy thing and lands on his head and rolls over to his feet and all his friends go crazy and jump on him or something
edit: and thank you to all who supported and to the people who dont
i know we arnt the best but as for me, being in my 2nd year of tumbling i think im doing pretty well and my coach is a very high level tumbler himself i know we arnt the best, but i do believe we are kinda up there atleast
no, it's not dynamotrickz
if you would have posted the title as "Open gym vid , fun session" or something like that, my first post on it would have been
"sweet stuff, but you do more on regular sprung floor instead of tumble track"
but your legends in the making comment make me post
"tumble track and rod floor!! 12 year old girls do that stuff and tumble track and rod floor! I bet they could even double full on grass. and the standing double back was raised like 8 inches and madly underdone.. don't be so arrogant, legend in the making OMG"
for the retard who went off about the irrelevance of my little girls comment, it is because they said they were legends in the making, but since men are always better in sports than girls and generaly older people are better, the fact that little (young) girls do the same stuff as them could not be more relevant.
and the standing double back vid was off 1 of the 5 or 6 matts you used and you know LANDED

Why not just present the tumbling sampler with a more calm attitude, and maybe a less.. exaggerated claim, instead of one about potential legends? I don't see many topic titles like this, EVEN from people who are better than the 12-y-old ninja kids.
