heres some tips i figured out for myself. you can get more rotation momentum by doing a cresent kick because you do a tornado kick. if you drive the knee up you get some up momentum, then when you do the kick you get more up momentum. i think that if you can jump high, you should do the cresent kick and if you are fast but cant jump as high, do the upwards knee drive setup. any of you guys got some tips because my tornado kicks are more light and floaty but i havent got the momentum to land on both legs or the kicking leg yet.
Crescent kicks before the actual kick mess me up. Basically you're taking one more technique you have to concentrate on and adding it to the bunch that you're already in over your head with. Same thing with HUGE run-ups and btwists, it messes people up. I wouldn't try doing them beforehand until you can land on both legs yet.
Btw tornado kicks that are high and floaty aren't necessarily 540 material. Remember the kick has to be fast enough to fly past your non-kicking leg before you can touch it to the ground. Now fast AND high...whew, those are the best.

when u think about it, ur kicking leg does almost all the work: Jumps, kicks, and lands. All u have to do with ur non kicking leg is chamber and pump on the jump a little to get that extra height.
