the second one was the best...the key is to kick ur nonjumping leg up as high as u can behind u...that will give u height and keep u horizontal
i think u should also u dip more

dizzy's absolutely right
yeh if u arc ur back and stick out chest it'll make ur bkick look better
but rite now the biggest issue for u is ur kicking leg. its no where near as high as it should be
if its hurting u to kick up, maybe u should be warming up or be doing a little conditioning
try looking up and looking at your house/ whatever that building is facing your back when you take off, when your in the air, it'll make you arch your back more, and give you a nicer higher b kick, try kicking up higher with your back legs as well. its looking nice though !

your making the u motion, but your not pushing hard on the upward side. I would suggest dipping more and really driving upward, arching your back more, kicking your leg up higher, and stop prancing around before you do it. You dont need that much prep for a b-kick. Your definately on the right track though. Good luck.

thx for all the help, i'm gonna try it today again and upload the new vid
also it's not call prancing, it's the momentum set up according to "Tricking101 - MikeMarvelMartini.wmv"
it's called the 3 step in wushu i believe.

Your set up is killing your bkick. I dont claim to have an amazing bkick, but you can at least see the proper setup. http://youtube.com/watch?v=CYSwFNrnnI8
that was just a video mainly made to critique my technique on a few things, but the bkick is fine, although it was actually a bailed tricker aerial, i just didnt feel like doing one, so dont pay attention to the bkick as much as the setup.

How are your standing ones? If you drill those, and they get good, you should have no problem implementing some sort of setup that works (and like Inkrepid said, one that WORKS, that is, transfers most of your spinning momentum into a powerful kick hangtime.)
If you're having discomfort kicking, maybe do some dynamic with back raises/kicks. Nice start though. Keep working on the U-dip into the kick, especially if you want nice standing ones. It should feel like your chest is flying/shooting upwards.
you need to push harder up. you arent ... jumping?... going up enough. plainly

I have a semi-nice b-kick from standing, but I can't throw it from setup. Its probably because I was a dumbass and drilled them bent-legged forever, but meh.
Yes, you're technically doing them right, but you're height isn't up to par. Really throw that shit up man.

leg height, jumping height? or both

both, whip your right leg up and arc your back, look up, jump off your left leg. you really need more height

sorry, i should have elaborated. I called it prancing because your movement wasnt linear enough. I use a similar setup for b-twist, but longer steps that draw more momentum. Dont just go through the motions, actually go 100% with the setup if your going to do it. Does that make any sense at all, or am i just on crack?
OK not sure if this has been said but lean backk! (once your in the air) and kick hard.

no, i understand what your saying. i thought the set up looks funny too. but then again i use more of a fluidy set up than most people because it looks nicer and gives more dip (sorry no vid im too poor to afford a camera and my friends are dicks) i step more back with my left foot and dip around into it. iono if that helps but yea...set up needs work
Look at your setup man, it totally lacks any power and dedication. For the basic bkick motion, yes, you're on the right track, but like everyone else said here, put more into it. When you lift your torso and your first leg up, bring them up together, and consciously make a huge effort to fucking RAM them into the sky.

I think I have a pretty good bkick, and while this one isn't up to my par, it's the only video I have. Look at how I take a few fast steps into my setup before the prance-and-twirl into the bkick. I learned my bkick from standing, and if you're having trouble, I might advise you try it like that. From there it's a matter of finding a setup that works for YOU. I take a couple of steps for speed, then for the actual setup I take two hops. I dont think many people do this, it's just the most natural way for me to do it. Also, remember that throwing arms up = height. Check out what my arms are doing as I take off. On the isle of wight, we call this motion THE GAY. Try everything. If you're doing a move and it's not working, you need to change something.

That's much better that what I thought it was from the dark clip.
But look at the leg that's last to leave the ground: it barely bends! When you dip you must bend only at the waist (the actual dip) and at that knee, because bending the knee actually allows you to jump from that leg, instead of just pushing off your toes. Do it through slowly a couple of times and practice really bending the second leg to give you some proper lift off the ground.

00:18 was good. Yeah Ryoda is right bend that left leg so you can spring up more. That's a good tip. Just keep drilling it, you've got most of the essential parts of the move. Improve power.
