Hi!
I would be greatfull if someone could give me some tips about how to start a rotation after you've jumped. Ex. if you start to jump straight up, without winding your body before take off, going in to a frontflip. After you've completed the frontflip, still in the air, you're going in to another frontflip but this time with some spin.
How do you move your body to generate this spin in the second flip?
Any tips about how to move your body to create nice spinning flips are more than welcome!
spin your hips and shouclers, although im not 100% sure.

haha, well, ive never really understood front fulls... those things are sick though.
but spinning is easy; do all of this at the same time.
*extend your arms fully and throw them towards the direction you want to spin and then pull them in tight. its the same physics behind spinning around on an office chair or whatever... if you stick your legs out, you'll spin faster. when you pull them in, you'll accelerate.
physics says that the furter away one mass is from another when theyre attached, the more drastically any movement of one will affect the other.
also, the smaller the body is in the direction its turning, the faster it will turn.
combine those two, and you get the logic for swinging your arms out and then curling them up.
*look where you want to go. without fail, looking wherever youre heading will get you there faster. it might hurt things like the backflip (where youre supposed to set looking forward), but looking over your shoulder while you twist is almost essential.
*keep tight. like i said in the first bullet, the smaller you are in the direction youre spinning, the faster you'll spin. its why layouts are harder than tucks, etc. but also, to sustain the spin, theres nothing more important than keeping your body how it was when you began to spin.
now, im really tired _and_ im not a very good twister. :tongue: its not cause i cant twist quick, its because i dont understand most of the twists takeoffs.... but whatever. the basics of it still apply. :wink: i may have left something out though, so pardon my error if i have. :ogre: haha. :good:

Torque.
if you take any martial arts, especially something like thai boxing, you'll see that alot of torque is generated by spinning a non-kicking leg on the ball of your foot. You can tell that it gives you MUCH more power, and with that in mind, try using your arms. musabi's post is ace so u can follow the other stuff that he says.
Yea the office chair method works well. Try to get spinning just with your arms.

for a front full...i can tell you how to spin in the first flip, not too sure bout the second one but I'm pretty sure the same concept applies. For the first one, to spin: after you set with your arms (punching up) you're going to bring your arms out and down on angle to side you're spinning to (you can bring your arms either to your shoulder or hip, whichever is more comfortable for you) and look over the shoulder that you're spinning towards, after doing this the rest of your body should follow suit.
Normally you would spin in the first flip, and then just flip in the second one, because it just makes it easier. You know you're going to make the first flip so you spin in that one, and then whip yourself over for the second one, rather than flipping the first one, and then trying to open up and spin, you're going to end up losing a lot of momentum....unless you're going for a double-twisting double front (double front with a full-twist in each flip)....then I can't help you with those, i can double front (off a tumble track) and front full (on plyo) so I kind of have an idea of how you would do a front full-in front out, but front-in full-out doesn't seem like it would work all that well.
