long long ago in a place far far away (me bedroom at like 1am) i stopped watching tv and wanted to try side splits (toes forward) i stretched to a few minutes
and then i tryied front splits i could do full front splits both ways and i only stretched me glutes and groin before i actually did the side splits stretch
so the question is do side splits stretch all leg muscles and stretch the groin like mad?

Well, kind of. The emphasis is on the adductors and groin, but it definitely stretches parts of the hamstrings and hip flexors also. Think about what position your leg is in. ALL of the muscles will be in an abnormal position, whether they're stretched, or flex, etc.
I pulled my hamstring earlier this semester, and I couldn't attempt side splits without aggravating it somewhat.
When I try to stretch for the side splits, after a few days I don't "feel the burn" anymore. It just hurts. Why?

I find whenever i practice my side splits i dont have that much of a stretch in my groin, it just hurts the backs of my knees.
I also have lost the burn whenever i stretch, i think its just because i dont warm up enough, try warming up more, like go for a jog or something.

Is there actually a groin muscle besides the abductors? (or adductors, I confuse them...)
