well personally im not as good at culinomancy as Jujimufu is (or acromancy for that matter)...in fact i cant even cook at all (minus Top Ramen, Cereal, Fruits).
So the big question is, is it alright to eat canned soups? Not sure if juji put this in an article or not, but usually on average the soups I eat (Progresso, typically Chicken and Wild Rice / Chicken Noodle / Steak and Noodle) have about 3%-5% of daily value in saturated fats, about 8-10 grams in protein, and a fair amount of carbohydrates. They also contain veggies and stuff, so is it pretty healthy at least to eat / drink soup?

Just learn to cook. Some tinned soups are alright, but they aren't ideal. I certainly wouldn't rely on them as a regular meal.

You can cook - there's nothing to it. Put some vegetables in a pot of boiling water, put a piece of meat in an oven for a while: you've got yourself a meal. It's on about the same order of difficulty as operating a DVD player

They normally have a lot of hydrogenated oils in them, and crazy amounts of sodium. Read the nutrition facts and ingredients.

Well said! :punched:
Unless it's like... some psychotic gourmet meal. :worry:
But that's not cooking anymore, that's art!

Antoine explained it pretty well.
"Cooking is easy.
That's why girls do it"
You don't have to be jaime oliver to make a tasty meal. Just start with the basic stuff like preparing meat, cook pasta and eventually you'll learn how to combine different sources of food into delicious marvels of culinary liking...
What did I just say...?

*too muss*
I think this discussion is pretty much over already . Steaming veggies, making eggs in anyway, rice, pasta, frying meat/chicken/fish, making salads/fruit salads it's all REEEEAAAALLLY simple.
By being able to type your post you showed that you are capable of cooking. :good:
And that Antoine quote was classic

in addition to those canned soups and such, is there anything negative about the negative dinners? I can't cook for shit so i have been eating a lot of those lean cuisines or healthy type frozen dinners.

frozen dinners? bleh. trust me man, if you can boil water and use a frying pan, you can make your own stuff. probably for cheaper, too.

Really?? I'm an extremely picky eater and pretty much jsut like noodles, rice, chicken/steak/pork/shrimp/any meat basically. the vegetables that I do like include carrots, broccoli, corn, cucumbers, and lettuce.
what things should I buy at the grocery store to make my ideal foods? how long and at what temperature do I cook things? I am filipino so I liek soy sauce and teriyaki. can I include this to make my meals less american?
thank you. :]

attack!!
It's all trial and error man, if you make noodles one night with soy sauce and mushrooms and don't like it for some reason, just take out the mushrooms and put in carrots and beans the next night, or something....
Just do it. Experiment.
(Have you people seen that penis cutting off thread in the publicus?? It's fucked up.)

HEY! I post some useful stuff everynow and then...kinda...ok maybe not :agony:
here's what i do about once every other week or so:
combine the following in a large pot:
1 can diced tomatos
1 can tomato paste
1.5 pounds cooked italian turkey sausage
a bit of salt, pepper, oregano, rosemary, thyme, whatever other spices you like
a bit of water
various vegetables chopped up
cook on low heat until vegetables get soft, combine with appropriate ammount of whole wheat pasta.
Then you have a good number of hearty meals prepared. Feel free to double or triple recipe if necessary. EASY!
