Let me explain.

I have nothing against newbs. I am a newb too and I know how much dedication and hard work it takes.

All i wanted to do was show that i can do the move, because i have the feeling that my rank is a total begginer but i want 2 show i can do something...

This is exactly why I hate you! You have NOTHING to prove to me or anyone else on this forum! No one is expecting you to bust hyperhooks!

Do you see me posting every move I have? Actually do you see anyone on this forum doing that? Can you imagine how the forum would be like if everyone did that?

If you had a Snapuswipe, then PLEASE POST IT! WE WANT TO SEE!

But you have a fucking gumby and you're all proud and shit! Stop trying to show off at your level, you aint got anything to show off with!

You're just like a random guy who comes to you on the street and asks you to see something cool. You get out of your way to please that person and in turn he does a cartwheel... and then they laugh.

And whats the deal with the samplers?

I'm not saying that you shouldn't post em, but even I don't post samplers and I'm way better than you... I mean, cool, one sampler is OK! But you posted SEVERAL in the space of a few weeks! You're like a myspace whore!

You didn't get any better in between either.

One other thing is you TUTS! NO ONE WANTS TO SEE TUTS FROM A NEWB. Especially from one who can barely do the move and on moves who no one gives a shit about.

Furthermore, stop hijacking threads to get advice on your btwist and raiz and whatnot... You've been doing it for a month now and you still havent tried the said btwist, raiz, etc.

Yes Mogwai's gumby is very fast and ace.
Danny Graham's gumby isn't as fast but it's quite fluid.

And Andy is right, most people do it wrong. (I'm speaking tricking-wise too, by the way). Most people do it exactly like a freaking carthweel over their other side. Like so:

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, A RAIZ IS NOT A NO-HANDED GUMBI, YOU FUCKING RETARDS!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4acMbMK8bQ
I do plenty of raizes in that little clip. That is not a no-handed gumbi.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4EVSXca5-I
Lateef does a no-handed gumbi in this at 47~ seconds. THAT'S A NO HANDED GUMBI!

I've been training capoeira for 3 years. How are you motherfuckers gonna tell me what a raiz is and what it isn't?

Jesus!

Watch CrazyAsian's hook missleg invert raiz swingthru gainer flash (on concrete) in Unveiled. Two clips later, he performs a hook missleg gumbi swingthru gainer flash. See any similarities, Andy le Mexican?

Also, note how CrazyAsian (the invert raiz mastah) happens to aerial landing on his left leg. Connection?

Andy Longcat
Dec-14-06, 01:21 PM
Trust me when I say this. A raiz is not an aerial variation. It's a kick. I've seen it used as a kick. In capoeira (where it originated) you use it as an attack. A no-handed gumbi is a different move. When you Raiz you don't kick your leg behind you, you more or less arch the hell out of your back, and perform a tornado kick (with legs bent) where the kicking leg trails (for showmanship) behind the takeoff leg.

Um, no. First of all, I'm merely trying to spell the freaking word "offensive" right. Second of all, I was providing an example to show people what not to do. If I'm not talking to you, I don't want to here your crap.

ANYWAYS Fly you have some good points but I think we're trying to talk tricking now. And what Lateef does there isn't a no handed Gumbi, it is a proper gymnastic aerial. I checked frame by frame and also referenced the feet he jumps off of in some of his other aerials and various moves.

I'd hate to say it, but in tricking the Gumbi serves also exactly the same purpose as a raiz, only you do it with your hands. This doesn't mean "oh yea Gumbi is just uh do a raiz without hands plz". It's still more of a....heck man! It's a Gumbi! It just looks like Gumbilicious goodness. I do it on the same side as my raiz and position my hands the same as a raiz (that is to say, I swing them to the same sides but put them on the ground still). If you want to swing through and you don't have them ambidextrous, then you need to do it on the same side of your raiz so you can swing through properly. A gumbi is much more inverted than a raiz though.

So Fly I'm curious, what would you call a no-handed raiz in Capoeira terms? Thanx.

Good job you capoeira faggot. I dont care what the hell capoeira considers a raiz or an aerial, becuase i dont do capoeira, i do tricks. So shut the hell up. I am to lazy to explain why a no-handed gumby is in fact a raiz...just like if you were to do a no handed gumby switch it would be a suicide swipe. Figure it out, its not that hard. :dead:

I made video about this in the past but am to lazy to post it again. To bad.

agreed

andy le mexican: tricks have many different names and oragins. eg:
i can call a cork a cork a slant gainer full or a 540 twist.
snapuswipe > laydown540 gyro
540 > hyper tornado kick
backflip > back somersault > salto

i could go on

Gumby - raiz

during the first txt summer gathering, Stephen Renny asked sessh to explain gumbis, he explained it as a handed raiz, and proceeded to gumbi a target. i think some one on team fs filmed it, don’t think is was ever posted. fly while the orgin may have come from different places the moves are hella similar, everyone in this thread, chill the fuck out. it just a trick, call it what you want, just make sure it looks good cough jkt cough.

Hyper Kick the moon switch I think. Which is an odd name seeings as it's hardly like a kick the moon to begin with. Iono, that's what I get from looking at stupid club540.com tricktionary.

I'm sure Sessh knows, for I have seen him do it in his CLN sampler.

alpha7158
Dec-17-06, 07:55 AM
its debatable whether the kick the moon switch on club 540 is a kick the moon switch, imo its not inverted enough. Also i dont invert at all, which makes it a very different move (and harder).

codeninja
Dec-17-06, 11:48 AM
sessh calls the hypered version a shaolin cross. a kick the moon switch has to have a degree of slant to it, also the second kick should be a twist kick, not a crescent

It is much harder, if its inverted then the second kick ends up like a flash rather than a crecent also you don't spin around the same axis if you invert it. I can see you are trying to pick an argument, how about you stop now and grow up a little bit instead?

I wasnt calling you goofy. I was calling the idea that that kick would be considered much harder then a kick the moon switch round (flik flak of sorts)...because in my mind the invert one is much harder and the kick one is rather simple.

Ok fair enough, tbh kick the moon switch and whatever this is in my avitar aren't hard. I sometimes fall over when I try the hypered version of the trick in my avatar but in comaprison to other tricks it is still relatively easy. I've been trying to do a hyper version of the trick in my avatar with a knife afterwards, and that is realy hard.
