Soy is a high quality protein, but unless your vegetarian, you will probably want to get most of your protein from animal protein, because it animal protein promotes muscle growth more than soy. Any way you might still add some soy protein to your diet.

Soy protein is better for chicks. If you're a bloke, try to ingest more whey protein!

I do like that taste of soy though. Many people don't.

Soy is not a product that men should even handle. Let alone consume. It basically turns you asian.

well, i have been saying that animal protein is better, but what about for losing weight, b/c soy things have little fat and cholesterol.

To put it plain and simple don't use soy products it porduces estrogen in the body, estrogen is for women. You need to use whey protein it is the best kind to get.

Wtf? So you want to lose weight. Why'd you wanna stay away from whey?? It's pure, concentrated proteins ffs. It's helluva lot easier to regulate protein intake and general diet with whey, than with meats ONLY, as you get pure protein, not proteins and animal fats.

it says on my tub:
per 30g...
24.6g is protein
2.0g is fat
and 2.1 is fat

the other 1.3g is most likely fibrous.

The big argument against soy is that it has phytoestrogen chemicals which some theorize might increase the amount of estrogen in you and give you womanly characteristics or something.

Does estrogen decrease testosterone or something? I don't see what the worry would be, I don't think a hormone could give you bitch tits if you didn't have enough fat on you to make them, even if the distributions were skewed.

Isn't one of the arguments against testosterone injections that if you take too much it turns into estrogen or progestrin or some other androgen, I forget what it was. I wonder if it'd work in reverse, endrocrine systems work weird.

A lot of soy manufacturers argue they use a special treatment process which removes the phytoestrogens. Were that verified, would that mean it's okay?

There are worse things than phytoestrogens in soy, mainly:

- Protein digestion disrupters, FUCKKK !!!

- Stuff bad for thyroid, thyroid = hormones

- Stuff bad for minerals (like ZINC !!)

- Various hazardous stuff

However, oestrogens in the environment does make women with bigger boobs and sooner.

uh, it seems like the main problem people have with soy is the phytoestrogens. As it turns out, these are "about 1000 times weaker than the body's primary estrogen estradiol." Good thing? apparently they bind to the body's estrogen receptors and effectively lower the estrogen effect.

http://www.timinvermont.com/fitness/soyvswhy.htm

so... soy good?

What are the "protein digestion disruptors" you are talking about?
bad for thyroid, any evidence?
why is zinc bad? or why does soy inhibit it or something?

man your gay max

Soy products have been linked to the development/spreading of breast cancers. No sources, find it yourself if you care enough.
