I've been on a really low fat diet recently, and I've noticed that my sex drive has diminished a great deal. I know that certain vitamins and minerals are fat soluble (including testosterone). I was just curious if this has happened to anyone before? Also what would be a few good fat staples to include in the diet?

Thanks Aldin

Probably because fats are essential to hormone production.

yes like others have said.

Fats are good. What you want is an adequate supply of Mono and Poly unsaturated fats, such as those found in nuts and Flax seeds. And healthy fatty acids such as Omega 3, 6 and 9's found in fish. And a REASONABLE amount of animal fats.

When most people go on low fat diets, what they want to avoid are Trans and Saturated fats which are abundant in "processed" commercial food products.

The easiest and most effective way to diet IMO is to just eliminate all mass produced indulgences and treat yourself to whole foods.

You will find most of your unhealthy fats are passivly eliminated anyway.

Saturated fat is a REQUIREMENT for making Testosterone, Luteinizing hormone and other hormones that are required for, well...living. The former two I mentioned are quite responsible for sex drive and homeostasis of your body chemistry. Be very careful about low-fat diets my friend. If your goal is to lose fat, then simply reducing the amount of fat in your diet isn't going to work if you're still shoving carb after carb down your throat. I don't know what you're trying to accomplish by cutting the fat in your diet...so uhhh...that's all I can really say :dead:

Cutting the fat in your diet will produce results , assuming you are already intaking an excessive amount of fats in your diet.

its a balancing act tho...

I just say, avoid Commercial food products and enriched foods of all types and consume whole foods as natural as possible. Meats, nuts, vegetables and fruits and your supplements. you are sure to get your required fats and nutrients without all the surplus that processed foods have.

And never use microwaves. and exercise. you will be perfect

i just cut saturated fats , trans fats and reduce my carb intake but only carbs with a high glycemic index .I still eat carbs wid a high g.i but only straight after a workout .I try to have lots of food that have monounsaturated fats and use stuff like olive oil . Fats are important in the phosopholipid bilayer and play an important role in the body (i learnt all this doing A-level biology i kno i am a geek lol)
