For me at least, this transition was sooo simple once I caught on.
It's all in your arms.
If you have a decent moonkick, try it again, but throw your arms up to the sky and do the same thing. You'll feel sooo much more floaty. It really helps ease the transition.
Well this worked for me, and I couldn't believe I didn't think about this simple tip someone gave me. Try it out.

lol, I see what you're saying, but this was the way I learned it, so this tutorial goes out to those who have gotten a moonkick but no Gflash. i guess other people might want to go the other way, but I did it and I got a pretty cool gflash out of it.
i agree with tartan. and none of those are a gflash.

Moonkick and Gflash are hardly different, neither is a prerequisite to the other. They are both on the same skill level and the only difference in them is the direction you swing your leg/arms when you take off.
Heck, all gainer variants (not twists) should be able to be done interchangeably. I don't see why there's so much controversy behind them all.

I agree, that's how I saw it when I learned it. I learned moonkick way before gainers to help rid me of my fear. It's just the simplest of the 3 moves. And those are gainerflashes aren't they?

This wasn't really a tutorial, this was a simple tip to try and help people who learned like me. I learned my lesson after the undertucking tutorial.
I need a tut for the other way around, for some reason I im not scared of gflash.

yeah i agree with tartan, it done properly a moonkick is just agflash where you dip the soulder once it is inverted to give it the cool moon kicky look with the quater twist on it.
if you're not scared of it then why don't you have it?
I do, allthough I need to use my arms when i land, because my chest isint high enough.

I still don't understand.
A moonkick is easier less scary and generally looks less dangerous and less appealing. (IMO). So why is it not a prereq.

Because a gainer flash is nothing more than a gainer with a kick. What's a moonkick? A slanted gainer with a kick. Which is simpler? Gainer flash. If you have a gainer flash, a moonkick is merely a slanted gainer flash. Hence, having a gainer flash makes a moonkick much easier to learn.

use ur hips more..? :eh:
I'll try that, see i need to work on using my whole body as one. In addition, i think imnot kicking through enough, its like i kick then slow down, if ya get me.

My regular straight gainer is not very good at all. I can't do a jstep gainer without twisting a bit, unless I flash it. The two moves feel sooo much different to me. o well.
