Why did you learn to throw knives?

TKD_Andy
Dec-20-06, 09:46 AM
because shengoikee bought them for my mate for his birthday and we were pissing around in some kids playpark throwing them at stuff.

Rigo
Dec-20-06, 11:47 AM
You could do that with screwdrivers too

Dec-20-06, 12:51 PM
why use a screwdriver?

1) it is more challenging
2) it is not illegal to throw screwdrivers in public
3) you dont have to slice vegetables with it afterwards.
4) so when you join the circus you can do it with real knives.

Why bother in the first place?
1) it is better than watching TV
2) it is beneficial to your mind to learn a new skill
3) it is potentially useful
4) you can amuse yourself by learning to do it
5) you can amuse yourself by throwing screwdrivers at trees
6) you can make a video tutorial and spread the word and receive adoration
7) you can piss off people who cant be bothered to do anything except vegetate in front of TV and rip people on the internet to make themselves feel better.

on a side note, im loving the absense of branleh now the forum is back up and running... hopefully it will stay branleh-free for a long while longer....

Or you could just throw a knife.

1) I`d rather throw a knife than a gay screwdriver.
2) It may not be illegal to throw screwdrivers you`ll still get booked/arrested for throwing them.
3) You probably have more than 1 knife.
3) Or you could just not join the circuis and keep throwing knifes anyway.

Why bother in the first place ?

1) It`s better than throwing gay screwdrivers.
2) You wont look like an idiot throwing screwdrivers at trees in public places.
4) Would you rather throw a screwdriver or a knife?
5) How is throwing a screwdriver at a tree potentially usefull when you could use a knife?
6) You can amuse yourself by throwing a knife at a tree.
7) You can laugh at the idiots waisting their time trying to throw a screwdriver at a tree and failing.
9) WHY THROW SCREWDRIVERS WHEN YOU CAN FUCKING TRICK!!! IF YOUR GONNA SPEND ENDLESS TIME THROWING THINGS AT TREES THEN YOUR A FOOL! YOU COULD USE THAT TIME LEARNING A NEW TRICK!!!

Ok i agree with the bit that you felt compelled to write in caps lock... tricking is more fun than throwing screwdrivers. or knives.

The thing that you seem too busy trying to be agressive to notice (are they all like that in glasgow?) is that if you can do it with a scerwdriver, you can do it with a knife. A screwdriver is generally more sturdy and more resiliant to being thrown into a tree than your average kitchen knife. You are also less likely to get yourself hurt as the screwdriver leaves your hand than when the knife exits your grip at speed, parellel to the fingers whose skin it is gently lacerating.

oh, and for future reference, theres an 8 between 7 and 9.

i like it, and imma try it

Although, It looks more "ninja-like" if you pull a sideswipe outta no where and you don't need any stupid household object to do that, so, bacially, tricking is the ultimate party trick.

throwing screwdrives then comes into its own when you have a low ceiling, and the kip-up has been used the maximum munber of times allowed (around 2).

Au batido? Coin drop? Aerial... they don't need THAT high of a ceiling, but you do have a fair point .... and at any party involving low ceilings, alcohol and trickers just begs for death... haha

I can use throwing knives, i fail to see why i should throw a screwdriver...

Because in a real-life fight, if you were confronted by an assailant with a weapon and all you had was a screwdriver because you were doing household repairs that require only a screwdriver, you'll be able to take him down. However, if you fail to see the efficiency in throwing screwdrivers, in this given situation, the irony is, you are screwed.

Flowers
Feb-21-07, 07:44 PM
I'd probably stab him. Rather than throw. Probably throw to scare him off.

Bboy EZ

I'd probably stab him. Rather than throw. Probably throw to scare him off.

You fail to acknowledge you are casting stones at your defense attorney. Shame on you, may you burn at the stake. Anyways, the fact you would rather stab than throw is a matter of preference, but I can make it necessary to throw. Suppose the situation was that an assailant with a knife was lunging at your daughter or son, mother or father, or some loved one. You were not within reach to stab him, and the only available throwing tool was a screwdriver. The screwdriver and your throwing ability are crucial in saving your loved ones lives. So stab at the air if it pleases you, but it won’t stop the assailant from murdering your family.

Even if it did stick them - doubtful in a real situation - the odds of actually disabling someone with a screwdriver ain't good.

When any projectile thrown from the hand, the only way you'll do any serious damage is a lucky hit to the head.

"3) it is potentially useful"

.... I don't believe that this is true.... unless of course one day we are a ravaged species enslaved by manthrashing trees and they have destroyed everything we know and love and force us too use household tools to build them monuments... then maybe... just maybe.... Towels will come to the rescue and save us all.
