The profound ignorance surrounding this move is staggering. The purpose of this vid is to help disspell the notion that a SuicideSwipe is JUST an Aerial-switch. It is NOT!!!!

I threw this together rather hastily...but eh....who cares. I just wanted to help you guys solve this "mystery" move.

Sorry about the quality at some points during the vid. The footage of myself was filmed in 2004, and the source was from a VHS. So, that explains the graininess. But you can still clearly see the move.

I hope this vid can help you guys. The SuicideSwipe is such an under-used, and under-rated move. I think this move rocks! I first started trying them in or around 1998. In the summer of 2005 (July 4th to be exact), I pulled off my most inverted suicideswipe EVVARRR!!!!!! It was such a cool-feeling-move, especially right when I spotted the ground, and swiped it thru. It felt like the most amazing flashy-kicky-thigy.

Well, have fun, good luck, and I hoped this helped.

BTW: The tut was written from my opinions and my perspective. It works for me, so I wanted to share my pointers. If I'm right, or if I'm wrong.....doesn't matter.
WHAT MATTERS IS THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT A SUICIDESWIPE IS NOT AN AERIAL-SWITCH.

Have Fun!:juji:

i appreciate and understand your point of view, however:

if you wanted to get it even more inverted, you'd dip down even lower on your takeoff, and if you did that, it'd look like an aerial takeoff. Therefore giving the whole move a look of an aerial.

The first suicideswipes were like a-switches (with regards to the takeoff), however your upper body just did a completely different motion and it was a lift and kick move rather than an aerial smoother movement technique.

i dont mean any disrespect by this, it's just my P.O.V, your suicideswipes look good :good:

Thanks for your input. But what do you mean by "dipping lower, will make it more of an aerial looking move"? Shouldn't you still the takeoff like a raiz?

I'm sorry but in my opinion, an aerial and a raiz look like the same thing to noobs. But to me, a veteran trickster of sorts (I started tricking in 1996), They are 2 different moves.
The tell-tale difference being:
Aerial-your chest is pretty much facing the ground.
Raiz-your chest is facing the sky.

So even if I dipped more, I would still have to square it up like a raiz. So technically speaking, if I dipped lower, shouldn't it resemble a raiz-switch EVEN MORE???!!!

Again, just my opinion. BTW Andy- your masterswipe2front is the sex!

That was cool and all but that looked like a normal sideswipe to me from a running takeoff. Not a suicideswipe. Needs to be more inverted.

try going into an aerial then forcing your upper body to turn so its facing the opposite way to normal then kick the other leg over. That'd be a proper suicide swipe, and if you hadn't have turned your chest the other way then it would have just been an a-switch.
