Alright, so there has been a lot of interest in having a Portland Gathering so I guess we'll have to set it up! I was thinking around spring break time, I know most colleges will have a 2 week break the last week in march, first week of april. There is another gathering around that time on the other side of the US, Loopkicks and Team Hurricane. Do we want to schedule around this or just go for it? So as of now, there is a 2 week date period, if someone can give me some suggestions on what days, that would be awesome.
We also have to find a gym. Anyone who lives up in that area needs to find a gym, get some pricing and post it here so we can get it under way. Once we have a gym selected we can get lodging. I know a few people from my school who live up there so I might be able to get free/cheap lodging for a few people.
uh...i dont get a spring break...

There is a gym called Naydenov Gymnastics http://www.ngymnastics.com/ It is $7.00 on sunday nights from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm.
From what the site says, thats in Vancouver, Washington? What other info can you get us? We would need to rent the gym for a couple hours on a saturday in the evening and sunday in the early morning/afternoon. I was thinking we could do this March 24th and 25th. Anyone disagree or want to do it the 31st and 1st of April?
Anyways, let me know what you find out about that gym, and anyone else from Portland who can help, let me know! We gotta get this scheduled and have people sign up to go so we know how many peeps and how much $$.
I am from Portland =] Hopefully i will have my apartment by then and can host some people.

i live in p-town too. naydenov is in vancouver but its really close. i might be able to house a few people at my house but its tiny so...yeah.

Everyone can arrive that Friday, Saturday we will have a gym session, and probably go to a mall and trick through that, or on the streets or something. If someone knows a park too, depending on weather. Sunday we'll have another session earlier in the morning and everyone can leave that afternoon.
Does that work? I need some feedback on who is going so I can arrange where we will stay.

I might show up And if i do ill just crash at some old friends house.
By then i should be able to throw down some cash or sumthing but im not really that great at planning ahead. But Tricking in Portland Would Be Sick. i more than likely just Watch In Awe Since im a Lozer and cant do shit.

I will be gone the end of march - beginning of April. I will be in Mexico for 10 days. Not sure the exact date but yeah.
I would suggest if you guys cannot change the date make the gathering a seattle gathering. Seeing as there only a couple of us in Portland anyways...and if I am gone I dont know where you guys will stay...

I dont know. Geckoboy and I have been tricking in the Portland area for years. I have met many people who start to trick...learn a flip or two and then quit.
Point is, how many real tricksters are there in this area that would be able to host a bunch of Seattle and Canada tricksters? I am the only one that comes to mind...so if you can host them, then go for it.
Also if you live in portland why dont you come train with us. We train weekly.

Yeah a Seattle gathering would seem to make more sense, plus there are probably plenty of trickers in Seattle that are just incognito. Call a gathering, post it on club540 and try to get as many people as possible. (tricking at the space needle would also be cool.) Plus I live in the seattle area.

Having a gathering in Seattle could give me a group to trick with on a regular bases. Plus the idea of a Seattle gathering just seems sweet.

Yes, but I would much rather do an invite-only small type gathering in portland...atleast if i am going to host it. But hey, if you feel like setting up a large gathering down here, feel free. :smile:

It would be difficult for me to host anything with school and all, plus I think there are far more qualified people to do the hosting. Those who are older and better trickers than me, I'm just a novice.

why dont you just contact Dogen, Larry or Nathan P...and just start training with them. You dont need a gathering to do that.
I dont really care where we have the gathering. Both Portland and Seattle are equal distance from me. The biggest problem with me setting up the gathering is I dont live in either city and therefore its hard to find a gym. So if anyone wants this gathering to go down you're going to have to help me find a gym. If you want a seattle gathering, find a seattle gym, same goes for portland. Cause right now both gatherings are dead in the water until someone helps me get that arrangement. After that I can get a place to stay and what not.
i know gyms in both cities.

make that anytime, not just for a gathering. I can always host a couple people for a couple nights no problem.

I think a vote shall be cast to determine the location, Seattle or Portland?
Plus a ride to Portland would be great, depending when the gathering is.
