Gangloid Cyst

I've had one on the top of my wrist for over a few days now and its not getting any smaller. I'm thinking about hitting it with a book. Has anyone done this before? Did it go away or come back?

My sister has one. That book thing doesn't work apparently, you have to get surgery.
