I have pain in my lower back and I feel it especially when I do deep squats. When I do deep squats it feels like something snaps in my lower back. Could I have strained a muscle because of lack of flexability?

Ehh you might have a bulging disc or something. I fucked up my back and had to quit squats and deadlifts for about 6 weeks. If you manage getting past this pain through rest, start again with really light weight when you resume the exercises that were troublesome.
