kind of off topic, but a couple of days ago i saw a "handspring machine", whilst doing a search for mats. it basically looks like pac-man with a mouth open at a 90 degree angle... thought it was a pretty inventive idea...however very f*cking expensive.

You don't need those things! A crash mat, which is cheaper i assume is good enough, or even just a spotter, but seriously this move is soo easyy! man i can do it in my bedroom! All it is, is lean back and jump backwards, nothing to worry about! Just UNDERSTAND the move and you'll have it.

a handspring machine would be cool but so unnecessary... who the fk would buy it????? even a gym wouldnt want one of them... and this is coming from someone who cant do them yet!

REALLY good vid.

It's not often an instructor actually goes through and shows how it looks like when you are doing it wrong.

Man, if only I'd found out about this sooner I might've learned backhandspring faster

I tried one of those so called "back handspring machines/Pacman mat" and it's not really that good, I admit i could already to them before i tried it, but the only thing i can imagine it might being slightly good for is eliminating a little bit of fear.
It's much better and cheaper to just get a spotter. If you don't have access to one, then go get one :P
