View Full Version : I hate you, cheap blender!
Ok so I convinced the family to go out and get a blender for the sake of their health. Said and done they went up and did it, but unfortunately I did not accompany them due to having business elsewhere that day.
After they got home I decided to make a nice energy filled fruit smoothie and started piling the ingredients up:
Apple juice (with sugar in it for a pre-workout energy boost.)
Plain yoghurt (sugar free)
Blueberries
Banana
Simple yet incredibly tasty, just don't overdo the bananas since the flavour is so dominant. Into the blender and plug it in!
The following would be a translation from what was said during the scenario:
I try turning the blender on, nothing happens.
"Clickclickclickclick"
Me: "WTF!! Hey! How much did you pay for this blender?"
Random family member except dad: "About 60 bucks."
Me: "Oh come on! You bought a cheap ass blender that doesn't even work!?"
Random family member except the dog and dad: "Have you plugged it in?"
Me: "No I stuck it up my nose and then rubbed a cat on my head, YES I PLUGGED IT IN!" (capital letters to emphasize the frustration here.)
Random family member except dad, the dog and sis: Well oh me oh my, I guess it doesn't work."
Me: "No shit sherlock.. Now I have a blender cup filled with ingredients that are wasted."
With that said and done I promptly ordered the blender to be washed and prepared for exchange with one that actually works.
I did find one of those mixer staves in a cupboard somewhere and went on to create something that resembled a fruit smoothie with that.
*Edit* Do not take this seriously, it is an overdramatization and a joke. Bottom line is, we bought a blender that didn't work.

Wow. Someone really likes his family.
Are you on steroids?
:ogre:
All jokes aside, no I'm not on steroids and I edited the post to clarify and prevent future misunderstandings.
Want me to find you a pacifier? I can be pretty friendly I reckon.
Let's just say I was greatly frustrated to have filled the blender with goodies to just have it not working on me.

Unfortunately I live in Sweden which equals dirty expensive prices. Plus we don't have Walmart. Anyway I reckon it's just an unlucky circumstance and that the blender simply needs to be exchanged.
I feel sorry for you cat :'( it didn't do nothing lol.
Anyway yeah my parents bought a shit blender that doesn't even cut up fruit! I got them to buy another one. This was ages ago.
I don't have a cat.. The 'conversation' was merely a joke to highlight the fact that I got abit frustrated due to having stuffed the blender and not having it work.
Although I can understand why you would think I do have a cat

Did you place the blender 'jug' into the actual base of the blender? Because sometimes they wont turn on unless the jug is sitting properly in the base (it's a safety thing).
I made this mistake once.

I got one for christmas that costs 300 kr. It's an awesome glass blender, I love it !
You haven't thought of doing things that are important to you yourself instead of aggrivating your family?

As stated before, the post was meant as an over-exaggerated example of how the blender de facto, did not work.
I did not yell at my family, no cats were hurt in the progress and the blender still does not work. Sheesh!
Compleks: Yer I know what you mean and I screwed that thing on tight! But still nothing.

Same here. Mine is an osterizer P.O.S. / Except mine has lasted 6 years instead of 6 months. It's such a hilarious pile of crap now, so many problems with it now I won't even begin - but I'm a master at getting it to still do the job! This is like the 80s Toyota Camry or blenders! :wicked:

Who knows, maybe I'll strike gold and get the Volvo 240 of blenders. (Giving a highly patriotic swedish example here.)
What signifies that kind of blender? Let's see:
It's been working for ages.
It stinks.
It barely works.
When it does work it does so poorly.
It is not pleasing for the eye.
It works on gas.
It has a stickshift the size of the actual blender that breaks down constantly.
It has a fox tail hanging on the side of it.
It has a permanent air freshener dating back to the early 90's (wunderbaum).
No matter how many repairs you've made to it, the same part still keeps breaking.
That about sums it up nicely. Viva la 240!

i use a smoothie maker which is actually really powerful but bits get stuck in the fawking tap..... :agony:!!!
Update:
The blender is now working fine and spinning all the crap I've tossed in so far!
Bloody hell I've missed out on alot in my blender-less years..
Favorite shake: apple juice, yoghurt, blueberries, strawberries, a frozen sliced banana and whey protein (chocolate flavoured.)
It's like bloody candy for kids! I'm addicted!!
