View Full Version : Nonflexy Person Looking To Become Flexy

Hello, I'm wondering if I can find out some more information about stretching to achieve the splits in particular, and how long that might take with some dedication. I have never had a regular stretching regimen, but I'm looking to start. I have the flexmutant .pdf file, with those five stretches recommended to help acquire the splits. I'm not sure if I'd believe that it can be done in a month, but if that's true, I'd be really excited. I've also read most of Juji's stretching articles on the site.

As of right now, I'm around 14 inches from a side split, and can just barely touch my toes with both legs perfectly straight while standing up. Not too great, but that's why I'm creating this thread.

So, if I'm able to dedicate, say, 30 minutes/day to stretching, what is a reasonable time to expect the splits to come in, and what stretches has everyone found most beneficial to improving their flexibility? Any tips regarding back flexibility as well would be appreciated too.

Why dont you do a search first.

I have done searches, and I have read articles. Maybe I should have been a little more specific. Does anyone want to share personal experiences about increasing their flexibility? Most people I know on this site had no trouble with becoming flexible, but I'm more interested in the people who worked for theirs. Perhaps I already know enough in order to advance myself, but I'm bored as hell.

I was inflexible as hell when I started. So I just did it every day, just like you need to. It's cool to have a thirst for knowledge but at one point you know what to do and you're just stalling. It's like fat people that make excuses like "I don't know what to do." (the correct answer being put down the damned fork and go for a walk). So to get the splits just practice them. If you want it you'll get it. If you don't get it, then you didn't want it and are a loser.

This should be posted on some major newspaper or something. Words of wisdom flashing their beautiful curves in my face.

Or whatever.. Quoted for absolute truth.

branlesplits twice a day, branleh.

go as down as possible and start branling. when you are about to branlesplash, force yourself lower. it doesnt hurt at all before the branle feeling has faded.

branlesplits may cause some tissue damage, branleh. when i invented this technique, i couldnt even walk right after branlesplit. ho ho ho.
