eeehhmmmm... well, your takeoff is 100% different from mine, so im not sure how much i can help.
with that in mind, can you do a tornado without running? if you can, i imagine you might want to try 540ing that way. if you cant, no worries, its just a matter of float-ifying your tornado and working on that "hypering" technique (bringing your non-kicking leg in tight, turning your hips over, etc).
now, for the 540 you posted in particular, if you want to stay with that takeoff, the only thing i could really identify is that you just kinda let yourself go after you execute the kick. wrap your arms up, bring your non-kicking leg in tighter (try to kick yourself in the ass with it), and try to bring the kick across and down as hard as you can, just after the apex.
like i said, i dont know shit about your takeoff, but i hope this helps some. :swashy:
well
your takeoff is weird
you need to use your arms more, after they give you lift try to tuck them
and look at your non kicking leg bring it up more at the beginning and
after kick ,don't forget to tuck it to you are trying to touch the floor that is why you don't get good hight
hope this helps a bit

try the 540 with a normal spinning or "hop" set-up
The "running to the side"setup is no good
if you want the later variations like a 540 crescent you will not be able to do it running anymore... imo
the run up is just a waist off time
you are running to the side so you can swing your leg over
NO
you have to learn to KICK you leg over and get used to that instead of swinging

Well that's not a bad 540 but it's a pretty weird setup you should watch TKD_Andy's 540 tutorial or Juji's and then adjust the setup to your liking from that.

I don't have too much room to talk about 540 technique, but I think it would be a lot more beneficial to learn it without the run.
Ok thanks for all the help guys.
Firstly, about my set up. I have watched jujis tutorials and everything like that. The thing is, everything right now with my 540 feels great. Like, it feels really good to do them, they mightnt look that great and there are fundamental technique flaws but the feeling is good.
I see how i wouldnt be able to do any other kicks from that set up, do you think id be able to do like, a torqued double leg from it? I think i might be able to try that...
So yeah, I will try tucking in my first leg more. And with my arms, I use them alot to take off and then what do I do exactly?after the kick sort of just bring them into my chest?
Thanks again guys.
Oh yeah, i can do some sort of standing set up tornada kick. But because of a lack of flexibility and strength, i feel I really need to use my current set up. I kinda created to help a weak, infelxible, tall and lanky tricker lol

haha, ok... your post is kinda self-contradictory.
the kick in your 540 is alright, which is important, but everything else needs fixing. i know youre comfortable with what youve got, but trust me, comfort doesnt mean its right.
try to mimic jujis takeoff (or the sidestepping takeoff others use) and just drill the shit out of it. eventually you'll be comfortable with that and then a whole new world will open up. jacknives, parafusos, all that good shit. with a strange takeoff, the tricks that are built upon something different wont work so well, not to mention comboing. savvy?
and as to your arms, just wrap them up like youre trying to spin. bring them in tight, following the momentum youve already created. it'll help you get a full rotation out of the 540 (which is god damn difficult, let me tell you, haha), and it just looks better all around.
:good:
alright thanks, i see what you mean. No more of that setup! I will start working on it asap! But would I be able to keep it for double leg you think?
And yeah it is comfortable atm, but i will change what I meant by saying it is comfortable was like everything feels good when Im doing it, momentum wise and what not.
I understand I need to change it though so i will, i been looking at some tuts and stuff and im going camping tomorrow at the beach so i will definitely work on it there.
Thanks for all your help guys :)
