It seems obvious to just spin more from a cheat 720 and kick, but its not that simple, some people change their chamber and other stuff, anyone know of one or can make one?

I think Steve miller made one somewhere, it is probably on kyoudo gaz's (or however u spell it) website, under celebrity tutorials.

I don't have that tut! Someone tell me where it is! I've got tuts from matt dipietrapolo and Stephen renney. If you mix the two up you defo get the gist.

i find i fucking harder then a jacknife

i don't think it is particularly hard. The problem with it is - and this is definitely the case as most people learn c720 first - that you have to re-program your entire technique. I'm only just getting the c900's and they do not feel at all like c720s. Watch Matt's tut on it, he makes it look very simple, and it is acually simple. It's just making your body do it that's the problem!
If you can jacknife, you should be physically able to c900. Just really think about it and spend some serious time on the move.

jacknifes are way harder than c900s.
well, i say that, a good jacknife is harder than a c9.

My Cheat900 is probably my most inconsistent trick :/...I (nearly) always bring up the kicking leg too soon. Very annoying habit.

Jan-14-07, 12:55 PM
after watching the tutorial of renney, i think i can do it pretty easy now :p
like i said
he cheats a 45 degree step
i never tryd that, so if i will i can kick out way out:p

The Cheat 900 and the Jacknife, no matter the quality, are about equal in difficulty. The extra 180-degree spin in the Cheat 900 and the 2 kicks with in the Jacknife take up the same amount of time in the air. The only thing that would change that is: 1) the person doing the Jacknife has trouble doing multiple kicks, 2) the person doing the Cheat 900 has problem spinning past 720.
As far as the Cheat 900, it's basically a "double spinning" Tornado Kick. Instead of doing a regular Tornado Kick, you spin around one more time and Tornado Kick. Regardless of how many spins, the kick should executed like a Tornado Kick...you should feel a quite "pump" in the non-kicking leg before you actually do the inside kick (round/crescent).
- Visualize, and kick through the target!
- Try not to "cheat" the set-up, doing so will defeat the "strategic" purpose of the C9!
- Launch up into the air, and keep torquing until the chamber.
In my opinion, the Cheat 900 is fairly hard to do! Alot of people can who Cheat 900, don't actually C9...and out of those who can C9, not many do it very well.

even steve terada takes a small cheat step so...
everybody is cheating the damn setup
just tryd it in my living room

I'm not cheating, not even a little bit!

even steve terada takes a small cheat step...
What does that have to do with anything?
Just because Steve Terada "cheats" his C9, doesn't mean that no-one can do it without "cheating". His C9, though pretty good, was never a favorite of mine...I do like his Tornado-front though, he really "sticks" the kick!

I used Stephen Renney's tut, I think that's a good one try that, but them main thing is just to practice like hell, c9 is hard.

its called a CHEAT 900.
just tryd it in my living room
peace off cake:p
please post it, i want to see if its as good as your 'jacknife'
broertjetim
Jan-15-07, 05:27 AM
cheat 900 does not mean you can take an extra 45 degree cheat step
it means you're taking off one leg and that is what CHEAT 900 means
not an extra cheat step
edit: i will post a vid of the C 900 soon
i'm not saying that it's good
i just did it like Renney does it
and about the jacknife: what is your problem with it
post yours if you can do better plz
or watch this tutorial : http://www.kyukodo.com/Videos/Open%20hand/jacknifetut.mpg
that dude has a weak last kick and his 540 kick is also bend

Here is an excellent jacknife.
Also, just because someone else has a bend in their jacknife doesn't mean it's the correct form. If you want it to be better then get that first leg straight out. Then it'll be an actual jacknife.
broertjetim
Jan-15-07, 08:14 AM
he is also not kicking
just swinging the leg :)
His jacknife still owns yours, and by your standards that means you can SHUT THE FUCK UP.
broertjetim
Jan-15-07, 08:59 AM
his jacknife is impresive
speed impresive
kicks impresive
but he also has a bend in his 540 leg and not kicking it out but swining it over
conclusion: you boys are stupid
everybody does a jacknife that way
the proof is taken

Broe>> Scalcos jacknife is perfect, and his legs are ULTRA extended compaired to your legs!
Also stop saying things in general, you keep saying "everyone does the kick that way".
Chris D, FULLY extend both legs in his jacknife!

As far as Jacknifes go, Scalco is doing something else, I'm honestly treating his Jacknife like a completely different trick. He lays back so much...almost like he's doing a Sideswipe, but since he doesn't rechamber his first kick, that slight pause between the two kicks isn't there, which also means that it's gonna be harder to make eye-contact with the target before he kicks the second time. So he just whips his legs over quickly...kind of a Jacknife/Swipeknife hybrid, hella weird, but hella cool too!
Alot of good Jacknifes here... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXqaeAUtGmI)I feel that I do my best Jacknife ever at 1:57. The height, speed, chambers, extention, size of the kick, arm position, eye contact on target, and rythem were really good in my opinion...

Jacknives are one of my favorites moves, only thing cooler is a sideswipe jacknife.
broertjetim
Jan-16-07, 03:08 AM
yes , i also think so
but swipeknife is much harder imo than jacknife
the harderst part in a swipeknife is to get you body back up for the last kick imo
