Yo. whats the scoop on chewin gum.

I heard it keeps your digestive system workin, thus you burn what youve got stored in your stomach.

Can some1 enlighten me, cause i usually chew after breakfast and dinner hoping that it actually does have an effect.

It may slightly raise your metabolism, but not to any significant degree.

I've heard that it chronically elevates your insulin, since chewing and saliva production (this part is right, at least) stimulate its release.

I used to chew it constantly, 24-fucking-7, for a few years, maybe between 13 and 15, around then

It gives you wrinkles according to a women's magazine.

I don't give a rats ass about wrinkles since I'm male.
Much to the contradiction of my dad who has injected Botox into his face
I chew whenever I don't do anything physically straining. I'm addicted to it ever since I quit smoking/snus.

I hate when you have chewing cum and all that white liquid shit it produces in your mouth. I spit in down the sink all i want is the cum not those chemicals and flavoring. I can't remember the last time I had some.

It activates the digestive fluid in your stomach because of salivation, which happens to be corrosive. Effects vary from hunger to slight irritation of the stomach in extreme cases, which translate to our stomach hurting for an hour or two, but you have to chew alot of gum for that...

I'd say I'm an 'extreme chewer' in that case. A couple of months ago I could go through 4 packets of (thankfully sugarfree) gum. I normally didn't have any problems with abdominal irritation.
The worst would be when you really go overboard and chew from the moment you wake until you go to bed. Usually equals in having a loose cannon (A running stomach and you're shitting water.) since you've been downing all the aspartame. Which in its own right is cancerous.

It does keep your mind on more important things besides "Is my breath ok?"

For good breath people: brush your tongue, that's where the smell comes from.

Read my post above, as stated I am an 'extreme chewer' and I've not noticed anything different on days without gum as with days I have had gum.
To chew or not to chew really.

Nice Freudian slip, faggot; and so, my hypothesis was correct.

Considering he wrote it twice and the layout of his text.. I guess it was intentional, but since I have now posted this, AJCN will just say "Yes it was." since he would have NEVER thought of calling it intentional.

Therefore I concur with Lobo and say that AJCN scored a freudian slip.

excess consumption may have a laxative effect

it helps stimulate the production of saliva (the body's natural anti-acid) so the next time you're having acid reflux, chew on a peice of gum instead of reaching for tums or rolaids. Recent studies have shown that anti-acid medicines drain the body of it mineral contents (especially calcium) which is why those fuckers now inject Tums and Rolaids with extra calcium...but the fuckers won't tell you that...homoerotic bitch ass pharmaceutical shitheads...

My dad has GERD, and he's been taking medicine for it, and he needs extra calcium.

Chewing gum contains the stuff Xylitol which helps fighting off bacteries(bad breath) the other effect is that it works laxative, thusly it makes you fart all day and helps you poo waaaay quicker than normal. I noticed when i didnt ate chewinggum I dont shit as much as when im not eating it. As far as I know i actually feel healthier not eating it.. but i eat it everyday for the last 2-3 years.

My question is-> can u get addicted of chewing gum?

Energy doesn't get stored in your stomach as far as I know. Maybe you mean to kickstart bloodflow there after you've exercised (which takes it away from there?).
