lately everyone has been learning moonkicks, so today i decided to follow the crowd and learn to moonkick
i actually suprised myself with how easy this tricks is, although i think i might be verging on a gainer flash, either way im happy because i like both tricks:smile:. Here is a vid of my 4th or 5th go at it.

Haha your a leftie to :P
And arch your back a little , that's i tip i've got to.
But damn, i'm so jalous at you right now.
I still can't land it and my next try would still be 6 days away.
By the way: Ain't that grass wet or anything?
And how did you overcome the fear of the first time doing it on grass? ^^
I tried it on plyo and landed on the side of my head haha

yeh the grass was pretty wet, i jus had to be carefull i dont slip wen doing the j step. An about the fear of doing it on grass - ive never trained at a gymnastic gym iv always learnt everything on grass and plus i could already comfortably do a tucked gainer so i was pretty sure i wouldnt cock it up. Its so much better tricking on grass cos you dont become reliant on plyo and mats so you can trick anywhere.
ps lefties rule!!

That wasn't a Moon Kick...a Moon Kick is a Gainer in which you trun your hips outward (away from the leg that's swinging up), and hook/wheel kicking behind you. The kick should be focused up above you while your head is directly under your hips. Though it is kicked like a hook kick, the body orientation of the trick makes the kick come down like an axe kick.
When you kick into the Moon Kick your head should be positioned so that your line of sight is perpindicular to the direction your leg is kicking. As you flip upsidedown, you chamber the hook/wheel kick...and once your head is under you hips, you release the kick while keeping eye contact with the ground. If done correctly, the force of the kick should bring you upright once you land on the ground...
Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EU7PxNluNyA) is a vid that has a pretty decent Moon Kick in it! It occurs several times throughout the vid, but the one I'm detailing is at 0:57. It's the trick he uses on the second guy...that's a Moon Kick
By the way, nice Gainer Flash...

I can see that you have the right idea by looking to the side but your not slanting, I think it's because you actaully look before you take off and then once you jump you just look strait again, you need to look at the ground to your right and swing your leg a little more to the side (Towards your right shoulder rather than strait over your head).
One thing that might help you is to understand the feel of the move, IMO the slanted gainer flash is an illusion that comes when you get a pretty inverted moonkick, to me it doesn't feel like a backflip at all, inversion came with time when I was just learning I thought of this move as a bkick entered by swinging your leg up, if that makes sense.
Sometimes it just takes one clip of a trick to make you see it a little differently and understand the move.
Here is the clip that did it for me

That's not a great moonkick but you can see the bkick motion I talked about because it's more horizontal that inverted, that's how my moonkick started and I gradually added more power and swung my leading leg higher and higher to get it more and more inverted until the looked like the one in my avatar.
This isn't the only way to think of a moonkick I'm sure the majority of people would probably argue with me about moonkicks not feeling like backflips as most people adapt their strait gainer into a moon, but this is just what worked for me, it also helped me with the cork because if a moon is a swing through bkick then cork is just a swing through btwist.
Anyways hope this help and all makes sense and everything.
Edit: Having said all that you may just be happy with your gainer flash as you said and just work on that.
