Yes maaam, this radio station had a competition to see who could drink the most water. Out of the two competators one of them died and the other was hospitalized. Supposedly too much water dilutes the blood and doesn't have the proper nutrition to feed your brain (mostly lack of glucose) so then u start feeling tired cause ur not getting the right nutrition and eventually fall into a comma. Both of them fell into a comma and the other died:punched: . Im sure it Took ALOT of water to do this maybe a couple litters. Could 1 litter before fasting cardio (According to Juji's site) be too much?????!?#?@!#!?@#??!@?#@?#?!?@#??!@?#?UH OH!!!
Does anyone know any negatives that come with either drinking too much at once(I kNO... DEATH) or over time?

Thats a very odd coincidence. Or your the end result of some chinese whispering !
Woman dies of 'water intoxication' after radio contest
A preliminary autopsy states that a woman died of "water intoxication" following a water drinking contest for a Nintendo Wii. News10 in Sacramento reports Station 107.9 The End's "Hold your wee for a Wii" contest had contestants doing exactly what the title says. The winner was the person who didn't release their bladder the longest. According to the woman's co-worker, after the contest, "She said to one of our supervisors that she was on her way home and her head was hurting her real bad ... she was crying and that was the last that anyone had heard from her." The co-workers contacted the woman's mother later on to check up how she was doing and she discovered the body. No word yet on how much water the woman consumed.

I already knew that hahaha, you can die from anything, from eating too much apples and from drinking too much water, or OD on cocaine.

No

It upsets the osmotic balance, so your cells take in too much water and explode. I could be wrong though.

a friend of mine drank 8 500ml bottles of water and got incredibly sick, he never did any activity afterwards or anything, just drank a shit load of water in very little time.

Is it possible to drink too much water?
Drinking too much water is rarely a problem as the body normally excretes any fluid not required.
The only circumstance where excessive water may be a problem is during prolonged strenuous exercise (e.g. marathon running) when sweat loses are very high and only plain water is drunk. If sodium is not replaced, there will be a rapid drop in blood sodium concentration (hyponatraemia) with very 'watery' blood plasma. This can result in dizziness, mental confusion and, in sever cases, seizures, respiratory failure and even death. Hyponatraemia sometimes occurs during endurance events (e.g. ironman triathlon) in very hot conditions.
I've heard about people taking ecstasy, and for some drug-related reason not being able to detect that they've quenched their thirst. They keep drinking water in an attempt to hydrate themself and end up doing the same thing as that woman on the radio show. Anyone else heard of this or am I talking outta my ass?

Yes, it is true. But the ammount of water you would need to drink is beyond ridiculous.
It's not like you can do it accidentally.

I generally make it a goal to get 3 liters a day. Why three liters? I have some handy containers that hold 3 liters.

I've heard about people taking ecstasy, and for some drug-related reason not being able to detect that they've quenched their thirst...
well, the problem is with ecstasy users is that they hear stories of hypothermia, and deaths from not drinking, and they get scared so as soon as they take the X they start drinkin loads of water thinkin it will dehidrate them like crazy, but all they really need is 500ml unless there dancing crazy u kno, if they go insanely crazy and there gettin really sweaty the most they need is 1000ml b/c the X duration isnt long...the after effects are pretty long and nasty, but the actuall drug duration is about 2-5 hrs...also if the MDMA isnt pure it might fuck u up depending on whats in it.
Damn, you can't die from drinking water if you piss it off, I mean I got a bad cold today and the best way to fight it is drink water. So i drink like 4-5 glasses of water per hour, and I will never die of it cause I pee as much as I drink. Of course when drinking and holding yourself from peeing when you become full of piss you stop filtering out unneeded water and accumulating. which is stupid, peeing is so fun anyway why would someone stop peeing while drinking lots and lots of water??

To win a Wii for her son. She should of eaten a lot of sodium.
It's possible, but I think you have to drink something stupid like 10+ liters in a really short period of time. Eventually you drown your kidneys and you die for some reason or another...
hmmmmmmmmmm..............
has anyone done that but with jelly?
a couple of weeks ago i made about 5 litres of jelly and since jelly is practically water after eating it all i just couldnt stop pissing.
i guess 5 liters in half an hour is a bit more than you need cos like whats his face said if you have too much your body will deject extra fluids
The most ironic thing was if they gave the Wii to her son due to her kicking the bucket. If I was the son I wouldn't be able to even look at the thing. Knowing that my mom died while trying to get it for me.
Pretty sad story really.

Those people were just too weak, once Thor was challenged to a drinking contest, he was fooled to empty a horn which was filled not with mead but was connected to the ocean. But he actually managed to drink enough to make visual changes of the oceans water levels and this action started tidal changes...

This was after Loki's eating contest against fire, correct?
And before his other friend had to race thought?
And before he had to wrestle withold age, if I'm not mistaken?
I'm a bit behind on my Norse, I really should start reading it again. The stories are awesome.

Yes, you're correct, they were all fooled by Utgardar-Loki, the Giant...
