Once you acquire a decent Butterfly Twist, it's only a matter of time before you attempt using it in combinations. As a single technique, the Btwist can be hard to manage! It's a technique that always takes some amount of concentration, even when it becomes easy for you to perform...this is because the quality of the Btwist is what comes into effect.
Maintaining good quality in the Btwist becomes hard, because the entrance into the Btwist and the exit out of the Btwist is completely fixed. When you think about it, there are many ways to set up into a Corkscrew or Gainer...but only one way to get into Btwist, and that's through the "dip".
Alot of times, when you get around to doing different tricks out of Btwist, you Btwist starts to change to accomodate the upcoming trick...
Like when you plan to do a cheat set-up trick from Btwist, you kinda want to lean back a little more when exiting the Btwist. This helps you "block" into the ground and get a little more lift.
Or when you plan to swing out of Btwist, you'll pick your chest up as you come out of the Btwist early and drop your arms down by your hips. This helps you prepare your footing for the swingthru, and get's your arms and legs in position to swing upwards.
Regardless of which trick you use out of Btwist, when you pick a favorite and start to do it alot, you'll tend to pick up a bad habit. You might plan to do a "pop" trick out of Btwist, but since you're so used to doing a "swingthru" outta Btwist, your muscle memory has taken control...
The moral is to drill different tricks out of Btwist constantly, so that you don't develop bad habits.
