Have you ever seen anyone do attempt a Jacknife, but the first kick doesn't really extend outwards (as if they're trying to knee someone)? That would be the "pump" for a C720.
Punmping in tricks is used to turn any trick into a "combination of tricks". Like when I Hyperhook for example...when I get to the point where I would Btwist-round, I "pump" that instead (not kicking it, but raising my knee up to "spot the target"), once I see the target I just look over my shoulder and hook. This way, the Hyperhook becomes a "Twist into C720"! It makes the overall trick harder, but it's proper martial arts technique (from a TKD standpoint), and it makes the kick come out faster and harder.
In a simpler version, you see alot of different C720's...some are stale (cheat set-up, spin, kick), and some have the leg's moving (cheat set-up, spin, pump, kick). The difference all depends on how big the pump is. Some are small while others are BIG.
Without a vid it's hard for me to explain...maybe someone will post a vid of a "pumped" C720 or something.
There ya go, Sess explains it perfectly.
Edit: Here's the link to the original thread where Sess made this post, you can have a read through the thread for further info.
