Ok, so basically, I'm new to tricking. I'm not complete idiotic though. I'm in gymnastics, and found the link to this site through a gymnastics forum. I can already do a cartwheel, aerial, handstand, back handspring, back walkover, front handspring (I have trouble landing it sometimes though), and thats about it. I just have some questions about tricking and such.

--Where is the best place to practice/learn tricks? I've read some of the threads on here, and most say grass. Which I would use...but currently theres a bunch of snow on it, seeing as I live in Wisconsin. I can't do it at my gymnastics practices, because my coaches want me to practice strictly skills that are in my routines. So whats the next best place to trick?

--What tricks would you recommend I start out with?

--How long does it take to get most tricks? Or does it vary a lot?

--Is there some limitation as far was women doing tricking? I'm just wondering, because I'm a girl, but I've noticed that most trickers are men.

Any answers/advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Well, im in the process of teaching my gf to trick soooo i could help on this one.

Tricks to start off with:

Backtuck
Tornado Kick
B-Kick (B-Twist after)
360 Crescent Kick
Au Batido

Get those down and you should have alot of other tricks soon after.

As far as the locations to trick. Since its all snowy there and here my best idea... BACKFLIP OFF STUFF =D snow is soft

If not then a gymnasium or some sort. Something soft or semi hard. Worst place would be a wood gym floor. But try to find time in your gym to work them.

Length for the moves. The ones listed you should have them all master in a month's time. The others wont take too long after that.

Theres your basics. Go have fun :bandit:

Welcome to the world of tricking.
Yes grass is the best to trick on, and snow is not such a big problem, take a shovel or just trick on the white bitch!
I dont think your coach will throw you out if you bust a trick or two, between breaks maybe?
To start check out the main site, the articles and the tutorials.
Yes, learing tricks varies, but your gymnastic backround should help you a lot.
And it really doesn't matter if youre a girl or a guy, we are all human :P
Also, post some nudes, that helps LOADS.

You're welcome, good luck!

Oh, learn to kick and get some flexibility if you haven't got splits already. Otherwise, learn backflip, frontflip and some aerial variations (Axe2aerial, brandy, atwist). And the masterswipe is also an easy trick, if you got the cartwheel.

Yeah, it varies too much. A double cork can take months to learn, while you can learn a masterswipe or an au batido in a day or so..

None.

btw., Frostbite, your avatar is a pop 720 :P.
