Yay! I sort of landed my first corkscrew today at the gym. The first one I landed really low, and my subsequent attempts I just crash into the floor, but I did get all the way around. I have no trouble spinning, I spin fast as hell, but I need more height. Any tips? Stories of how you learned it? By the way, it feels fucking awesome since currently I can't backtuck or slant gainer.

There is NO way you should be doing corks.

Have you read Tricking 101? You should use that.

I'm using it to get over my back tuck mental block. I had them, but lost them because I crashed. Doing corks helps me to get over the mental issue. Can you offer any advice on the CORKSCREW?

Yes. Stop doing them. Get a SPOTTER for your backflips, then get gainers, then gainer flash, then moonkick. I mean, that's if you want to be remotely successful.

Simple. You've gotta get the height. I used to have the same problem as you.

Kick your leg up and try to get your hips as high as possible.

THEN, you twist.

Or get some prerequisites. That's what I did, and cork is one of my strongest moves right now.
