My problems in them is that i just CAN'T force myself to arch and look back...
da hell, that's the thing that fucks up my bhs too...
Any tips on solving this problem?

hmm... how are your backtucks? like can you r-off tuck? Try doing r-off whips, it'll get you used to throwing your head back :good:
however, throwing your head straight back on gflashes kills them, as i found out time and time again. Just kick straight up and lift off, you really dont have to do anything else.

Well... my bf is OK, not too great though.
I didn't try r/o back yet...
But the problem is that I'm afraid to look back at flips (that's why my back flip technique is pretty good- I always look forward).
I did standing flashciks into pit yesterday (gym session).
But I still don't look back at all, or arch my back.. X__X

ahhh! if you have a foam pit, just try and do a r-off layout into that, then it doesnt matter how you land.
layouts are like the least technical (in essentials) move to do out of a roundoff, just land with your arms up, arch a lil and you'll just cruise over.

Couldn't put it any better than that, my gflashes never used to work because I used to much backflip technique, it seems funny to think that you don't even have to try and backflip in a gainer flash but it's true.

haha yeah backflip doesnt = a gainerflash.
a reverse tucked gainer or a straight tuck gainer is all about backflip technique, but gflashes are far simpler.
yes i would say theyre easier than backtucks for me now.

i learned gainer flash before i learned back tuck. for me it was easy. like tkd andy said. kick and enjoy the ride.

well...
I used to do something that was a mix between a gainer flash and a moon kick.... But it was neither so it sucked.
notice how andy doesn't sprint into it or use too many steps... just keeps it to a nice 3 step take off.

haha at my gym class i did one from a switch of a stance and one step (like if your right legs in front, you make a tiny jump and switch the legs, then take one big step into it)
it was more or less the samp, a bit more angled though methinks. Meh, first try n all.
try em standing, really confusing...

ahh awesome ! I'm coming up with a girl, her friend has an apartment in oxford but it was too small for us to stay in and i don't wanna go to reading to stay in her house, so we were thinking only going up for the day, but now you offered some where to crash, this is starting to look very awesome :P

Dude, you're a bitch. I'm still no closer to landing the fucker. My feet hit first every time but I'm bent forward which causes me to go onto my knees every time. I really can't get rid of it either.
stay rigid with your lead leg, so you sorta lean back as it lifts, it might counterbalance you and help get your head away from ya knees.

Yes if there's something I learned most about gainer flashes, besides kicking hard (which should be more obvious to people), it's that arching and really whipping your head back kills it. I suppose people do it differently enough that for some it helps them, but that's what trying it different ways does for you. You learn what works and what doesn't. Just kick hard and up high. Don't try and arch and look back and you'll be surprised what happens. Even though I can't do it now (because I created bad habits of that whole 'head back' thing again, I believe that was the key to how I landed my first one.

If you can already backflip, go for it. Otherwise your priorities are mixed up. The standing backflip is the simplest and easiest of flipping manuever that don't involve placing your hands down, except maybe whipbacks but those are more like no handed back handsprings.
Learning gainerflash before a backflip is just plain stupid.

Don't throw the head back. You can open up your chest and arch a little without killing your height. But if you try and look at the ground as you go off right away that generally will involve less height. My experience. Doesn't work for everybody become some people do more whippy kind of gainer flashes then pure kicking. Experiment but don't think a big arching whippy kind of gainerflash is the only way to go. It's not.
Also, I repeat, learn backflip if you haven't yet. I'm not sure you verified that. You have no business going for a gainerflash if you can't backflip. It's harder, not to mention if you have to get over fear, it's certainly easier with the backflip which is much simpler anyway.
