I just beat the world record high jump... :ogre:
So I was at the training facility watching the high schoolers do high jump... and then it hit me, there is a better way to do this thing. I ask the kids if I can have a run at it, so I start at 5 feet, way too easy...6,7,8 feet...
roundoff > bhs > bhs > delayed backtuck = 9 feet 2 ½ inch
As far as I know, the world record is 8 feet something
And as far as I know, there's no rules as to how you high jump, just techniques. Eventually I had to delay the back tuck to clear the bar, but it works like a charm, really.
Correct me if I'm wrong about that...
But basicly, a good number of us could be in the olympics and revolutionize the high jump, and I'm thinking long jump as well. Something like roundoff>bhs>bhs>backtuck-halftwist... to land facing forward.
I don't know what to think... the high schoolers were saying it was cheating. Thoughts?
