Masterswipes are a cartwheel variation and GMswipes are an aerial variation, you should be going oversideways to make it a GMswipe, anything else is just a gainer.

I agree. GMS's or even tricking masterswipes are blaaah to me.

Their just retarded cartwheels. The bboying masterswipe is a REAL masterswipe. It is different than a cartwheel and (for all intents and purposes) it is actually a swiping motion. A trickster masterswipe is kinda like the trickster aerial: CRAP CRAP CRAP!
It looks like somebody tripped over their own feet and turned it into a cartwheel. It just looks gooooofy!

Seriously, the bboy masterswipe looks good, isn't goofy, and flows well into other moves (mostly bboy moves but it can be applied to tricking with the use of other linking moves). I wanna see somebody to a "grand" version of that master swipe, now THAT would be good stuff. Not like the stupid gainer variation gms we have now.

He does them twice in his combo here at 1:04. After doing headspins he does one and then does a windmill then does another.
He think he does a couple other one's throughout the video. He's siiiick.

As you can see, they take more skill to pull off well.

Grand masterswipe is sideways. Gainer switch is not sideways, it is backwards.

the whole bboying swipe terminology is fucked up, everybody made up their own names and masterswipe are basically just regular swipes, some say the difference is the positioning of the upper body during the move.

i honestly don't give a fuck about tricking masterswipes, they look cool imo, but i prefer bboy masterswipes because they can be easier chained.

btw i think a gms can look good, it;s just that most people just do a fucked up sideways gswitch. you should apply the tricking masterswipe technique into the move, like arching and stuff like that. that would make it look cooler, and it would also make the move a lot harder, so that it would get the credit it deserves.

This is pretty much the definition of gms. Because of the fact that your hands are no longer in contact with the ground the physics of the move change. I'm fairly sure that an aerial form of something that closely resembles a b-boy masterswipe will never be landed.

Those aren't normal swipes.

In normal swipes you wouldn't have your leg already in the air. You simply swipe your leg, it's the leg positioning that counts! For example, a basic swipe would be:

People often call Master Swipes only swipes, and that's because they're fools! Sure Master Swipes are swipes, but they're a type of swipe. And starting them from standing wouldn't make them master swipes, it'd just make them uglier. The "master swipe" issue isn't that big of a deal. It's just annoying how everybody's hucking around these ugly gms's and ms's now just because Sessh made one video about gms's. And his was actually good, especially when he fulled that shizzle. Shweet!

Corks are just horizontal gainer fulls, butterfly kicks are just horizontal aerials, moonkicks are just slanted gainer flashes, etc.

We still have different names for them. Plus, I really like grand masterswipes. Especially when it's Haime of Alpha performing them.
