No, your knees are bend in side splits. Try to straighten them out and your front split need alots work to do. Very good for your age! Keep up the good work. :)

that was quite funny actually.

Anyways, Kurtz's book discusses methods allowing you to kick cold with near maximal flexibility. However he also points out in his book that you should not do this a lot and this does not mean you should skip warming up, because for any extended period of exercise, you should. <- If you guys were wondering.

His method basically gets your nervous system used to exhibiting max flexibility at any time (cold) and puts of a lot of stress on regularly performing dynamic stretching =D

I can still do pretty much vertical sidekicks cold. When I'm warmed up, it's not that much better.

From my experience, you just have to do some "cold training" once in a while. It's probably not recommended though, hahah:P

I can kick just as good cold as I can warm pretty much. Its wushu stretching methods, they get you cold flexibility etc

how do you achieve that kind of flexibility? i cann't kick cold for shit:S my side kick doesn't go higher than my head if i throw one cold. i can slightly over (side) split. and can throw a vertical side kick if i'm warmed up, although i can't 'hold' the kick.

Cold dynamic stretching daily... or just do tons and tons of martial arts and stuff =P?

*edit* thats just to supplement regular stretching btw, u still need both...

I tried winning that contest for free product Kurz had, where you had to compare the two movies and tell what was different and how that difference proves that he couldn't have warmed up.

I remember his explanation for the difference and proof was a bit sub-par...

Anyway, what's 'cold' anyway? It's not as if we're ever truly cold. It's just a degree of how much you warmed up, and maybe how cold it is outside, and if you're wearing pants. Kurz is wearing pants.

Speaking of those, he's doing all this in what looks like dress pants. Wouldn't you need to get those specially designed to allow that sort of movement? I've found with dress pants you can barely separate your legs more than 90 degrees laterally without the crotch getting all tight and you don't want to go further for fear of ripping them.

Pants usually have more freedom front/back, but even then probably not enough for splits.
