Hello everyone.
Now i have stretched in 5 months and have gotten really flexible...

How far away from the full split are you? Circumstances come into play when it comes to a full split as well you know.

stretch 15 minutes 2-3x a day, do hip exercises and slow kicks at least once a day. do splits 3x a day all directions.

3 times a day? Sounds like bullcrap.

One stretching session a day if it is relaxed. 30 minutes or so total maybe? I'm talking the whole body in that case.

I couldn't possibly stand doing 3 sessions a day.

@Hobzet: i needed about one year to reach front splits and dont have sidesplit after three. but still making slow progress. so dont worry. some people just need longer. for me, flexibility is the one athletic factor for tricking that is most difficult to delevop :dead:

i think that is excessive. have you ever heard of recovery time.

Dobi, you look so much like an old buddy from my army company it is starting to get freaky with that avatar. I always wonder if he's snooping on the forums when I see it

get in your maximal flexing position ,then contract your whole body (specialy legs) for about 7-8 seconds and suddenly relax, this allows you to go further down.Repeat until you're either dead or achieved the splits.

I also struggled with regular flexibility for half a year ,this method allowed me to get those last inches!

another excellent method, branleh.

but branletching is better. even though it hurts pretty funnily after branlesplashing, ho ho ho.

Careful with the isometrics (tense-relax stretches) though, they can own you pretty badly, especially if you're young - and you are. Also, if you’re stretching to pain tolerance you might be short-changing your progress. Relaxed stretching does actually temporarily damage your muscles, so you should be sure to adequately recover between sessions. On top of that, passive stretching shouldn't feel painful - it should feel relaxed and gradual. You can still stretch to your full range of motion painlessly; it just takes a little longer.

Look at Juji's section on isometric stretching if you want to try those... but I don't know if it'd be a good idea for someone your age.

actually i do this daily, So i dont believe its bull crap, I gradually had to work up to this point though. I can still drop into splits when my hamstrings are sore after a good stretching session.

EDIT: actually fuck this im going to hit my 3rd stretching session.

Yeah actually I noticed the most increase in flexibility when I stretched multiple times a day, not once. So ignoring Mike's advice completely would be a bit silly. Not to say I do it for that duration or whatever but more than once a day can be quite beneficial if done right.
