What do I need to stretch If I can't sit: on my ass, legs out, on the ground, with my back straight? It's the hips right? I'm wondering cause I've never been able to do this and think this is the reason why I injured my back a while ago. Something's to tight and therefore my back takes punishment.

It's your hamstrings, trust me. They are too tight and they pull your back. You should also stretch your hip flexors, these two (hams and hip flexors) are way too tight for most the ppl and cause postural problems.
Also if you're that tight don't force the hamstring stretches and take it slow. If you overstretch your hams (or even worse pull them) it takes awhile to heal and you might even lose flex.

Do a lot of lowerback work too. Not just stretching, but back extensions and stuff like that to strengthen your core. If you can't sit on the floor you need some serious work. So train hard and good luck.

Ok, maybe my problems are more that I want to sit with my legs spread (90 degrees between them) and have my back straight:

And my back's not weak, this is a 8 months old picture:

Wow man pwnd haha
Well I'd still suggest hams and hip flexors, your bend back in that position has NOTHING to do with back strenght whatsoever. Your hams are probably too tight and pull your back. Also use those hip flexors to pull your belly and torso straight, it's really hard to be in that position without ANY muscular tension (aka completely relaxed.)
Also unless your a serious minded powerlifter whatever, stretching = :good: x10
It's like fucking therapy or something. It really makes you feel more mobile and happy and branleh and all that. A good general point all humans should be able to do is to touch the floor with their entire palm in toe touch standing type of stretch. (for hamstring flexibility)
edit: oh well just tried you can sit in that pos without any muscular tension, I really think it's just your hams and hip flexors.

Thanx. Yeah flexibility is the shit. I'm just to lazy to do much stretching, but I will. Soon..

Knee kisser. That's a goal for me. Never been able to touch the floor with my palms. On the other hand I have HUGE legs compared to my body composition so.. Bummer
